I’ve been considering making /c/safety or something like that on dullsters.net with posts about safety topucs and near misses.
Soon you’ll be running a homelab and browsing selfhosted.
A lot of users have stated that they enjoy this community due to the lack of constant political noise elsewhere. Where one of the top 3 reccomemded non-political communities on Lemmy.
It is boring to seed such a large torrent for such a long time and have someone else start downloading, but op does go into great detail about their political activism.
It’s a popular post, so I left it up, but I would like to keep the community focused more on it’s core mission, which in part is giving people an escape from the constant noise everwhere else.
It still falls under the politics rule.
I’m not sure this is dull, but I’ll leave it up if everyone is chill about it.
Discussion of boning is only allowed in here if the socks stay on.
Indeed I was able to restore their comments. However, it was somewhat of a fluke that I saw what happened.
I agree that their comments should be deleted automatically, however I did not like the message their comments were replaced with because it implies I banned them. It would also be nice if moderators and admin of other instances could at least be notified. If the user has written a really useful answer to a question or a how to guide then that could disappear forever. Someone else in this thread stated that the comments should be deleted forever. I really don’t like the idea of someone having the ability to delete things completely off of my server.
I own !dullsters@dullsters.net and mod !dull_mens_club@lemmy.world so that wouldn’t be allowed.
It looks like they had been banned from a community a week and a half ago and then banned completely yesterday. I can’t find any other bans.
They certainly had a lot of political hot takes, some popular some not. Account was a month old, so they may be a ban evader.
I did find this comment, but again, I can’t tell what it’s in referrence to.
My mindset is that if they’re following the rules of my communities what they do outside of those communities is their own business.
My communities are a place for people to post their shared experiences. The more people can humanize each other, the less they will act out.

I’ve been thinking we should have a monthly safety topic in here.
If you have a gift card they will let you in, even if the gift card doesn’t cover the whole purchase.
Possible that your car has a special procedure for lifting if it has air suspension. May also need some kind of calibration after having tires installed or one of the tires is the wrong size.
It’s been really great seeing the community grow the way it has. Of course everyone is welcome in either community as long as you’re dull. maybe there will be more dull communities on dullsters.net in the future.
It even has IPv6!
Also, dull men’s club is actually a real entity with a website and everything. I figured if I was going to make my own website I probably shouldn’t impersonate them.
Does that make the marmite on !dullsters@dullsters.net Ernie?
