Marko is not going to Merc, they really don’t need him. Newey has it so cushy at Red Bull he’s not going anywhere. Max would only leave at the moment if something terribly bad happend he didn’t want to be associated with, and so far this isn’t it.
That seems incredibly insulting to the other supremely talented engineers at red bull. One man alone cant develop a car. What he can is guide a team if talented designers. See how merc are still pretty much where they were last year in competitiveness even though James Allison was added back to the technical department.
Adrian newey is the difference maker, not the sole reason for success.
Your last sentence is essentially no different to OP.
The Red Bull car is Newey because he makes the difference.
It’s a team sport but there’s no need to preface every statement with the credits at the end of the movie.
We know it’s the director’s film.
We know it’s Newey’s car.
We can say either of those statements without diminishing the work of others.
Unless you want to tell me I need to know the names of the 3rd AD and 2nd Dolly grip for each film in the best directors category, you shouldn’t be trying to manufacture offence when someone says the “Global Chief Technical Officer” is responsible for the car.
Yep, Max is fast enough to be a championship contender in either of the Top 4 teams right now, maybe top 5 considering what Alonso is doing in that Aston.
I also agree that RedBull would be stupid to not choose him over Horner. He absolutely destroyed 4 teammates with this team so far. You know, people that drive the same car, in the same team headed by the same people. The car sure is fast but this combination is all conquering and whatever you say Horner’s maybe the fourth person responsible for that right now, and that’s conservative.
But Max will also have to answer the question: Will he seriously leave for a team with a worse car?
It seems to be going 2 possible ways in my opinion:
1: Verstappen goes to Merc with Marko & Newey.
2: Verstappen quits and goes on with sim racing.
Why would a 80 years old and a 65 years man look for a new job?
Maybe because they like what they do and want to continue doing so for as long as possible.
I think you underestimate how much Europeans love money.
I am European.
Do you love money? :p
I love paid vacation and free time.
Ha ha ha that is the right answer
It is not the money. It is the love of racing.

Oh I see him flowing Newey in a heartbeat. Let’s face the RB car is Newey

Honestly it is a valid question. With his time splits it seems likely he could win with Mercedes or Ferrari, but that is just a guess.
I bet though if it truly gets down to a choice between the two, the powers that be will Choose Max.
