Though ancient, this dish from Babylon is delicious! It has a warm and round taste, and the combination of arugula and wheat beer is quite unique.
Damn, that’s a long time without spoiling.
It was stored airtight in a copper jar in the warehouse of Ea Nasir
Fake, no way his shitty copper would have held up.
His is plainly inferior copper, not like the copper I sell which is from the technologically superior smelters of Eastern Abyssinia, and is transported on the backs of tamed lions by the Warrior Virgins of Nubia.
Come on down to the Peerless Copper Emporium on the corner of Babylon St and Mesopotamia Ave. Turn right at the auroch and one block west!
Oh no, he ded
My wife got me the Tasting History cookbook for my birthday a couple years ago and I’ve been cooking my way through it. I made this recipe a couple months ago and it was truly fascinating! Between the beets, the lamb, the coriander, the cumin, and the arugula, it was a flavor profile truly unlike anything I’ve ever eaten.
It really put the variety of food and flavor throughout history into perspective for me.
You’re serving hardtack for dinner soon, right?

CLACK, CLACK
The recipe sounds delicious!
What inspired you to make it?
Tasting History, haha. But also, it was the strange combination of ingredients that drew me to it. I don’t know of anything like it. It might be slightly similar to borscht due to the beets
Huh, this is closer to borschtsch than I would’ve expected from an ancient Mesopotamian dish.
