7·2 months agoNot quite, he doesn’t demean himself by ‘buying’ anything, he just built a place where other people can buy stuff for a dollar and sell it for two, and Jeff takes a cut.

3·3 months agoI don’t think Kubuntu 24.04 had Plasma 6 because it was an LTS release. In Plasma 6.3 they completely reworked the settings page for graphics tablets, and they’ve also changed how fractional scaling works so it should be less blurry (if that was what was making it blurry for you before).

4·4 months ago- Films that no-one has seen aren’t going to be influencing peoples knowledge. I notice you haven’t named any either. For more information please see: Burden of Proof
- This discussion is about jol’s claim that hollywood is responsible for covering up slavery in Brazil. Those are the goalposts. The fact that hollywood collaborates with the US military to promote their interests is only relevant if you can show a link to slavery in Brazil.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL Brazil received nearly 50% of all African slaves in the Transatlantic slave tradeEnglish
36·4 months agoI’m not sure that’s fair. Hollywood isn’t the history channel, its job isn’t to educate the world and they certainly aren’t conspiring to suppress knowledge of the slave trade in Brazil. They just haven’t made many films that feature it.
edit: If you’re getting all your world knowledge from films, that’s a problem.
