Yep, I modded my switch, dumped the keys and my games and went “Now what?” and after playing via Yuzu on my PC I realized this was the only way I really wanted to play the few Switch games I enjoy.
Every now and then I’ll boot into the stock firmware to play Mario Kart with some friends when they want to play, and that’s it.
I imagine that is the case, however they could refund it given the situation.
I get the feeling they won’t allow refunds.

Ah I see, that’s unfortunate then. For what its worth, I still think the bot is a great idea for discoverability and bridging the two services together! I hadn’t seen it before since I usually have bot users muted and happened to see this comment chain while logged out.
I’ve given it a follow from my Mastodon account since I do tend to miss quite a few cool Lemmy posts it seems, and I think it’ll help me find some communities in general that I’ll want to subscribe to from over here.
I wonder if perhaps wrapping the majority of the text in a spoiler would work. Though I don’t know if that translates over to Mastodon (if not, it might look a bit funky on that side).

Ah my apologies I should’ve clarified a bit. For example, if I’m on !outpost@outpost.zeuslink.net then I can see the Admin tools on both comments and posts, since that is a community on my instance (and I am an admin on my instance). But say, for this post (along with my comment and yours) I don’t get the Admin tools option.
Or if even I myself make a post / comment that is outside of my instance, I also cannot see the Admin tools there either.
I really appreciate the constant updates for Summit! It’s my preferred Lemmy client, as it looks very nice and runs incredibly smoothly (a lot of the apps I’ve tried suffer from a lot of stuttering whenever scrolling through posts).
By any chance, are Instance Admin tools planned? I can see the Admin options for my instance’s main community, but I can’t see them for posts/comments that don’t originate from my instance.
And additionally, to the community at large - admins, moderators, people who post/comment - we all have played a major part in expanding Lemmy and the Fediverse in general!

And if you really want even more barebones, you can just do git init --bare into a directory on your VPS, and then git clone user@your.ip.here:path/to/the/directory and use git as you would normally!
I myself haven’t done any major blogging in a while (Last year I started one and just used Hugo as a static-site-generator so no ActivityPub integration, but also ended up not really posting much), but from what I’ve always heard about WordPress the major “selling” point would be its vast ecosystem of plugins and themes.
But that ecosystem is a double-edged sword, because there is tons of malware for WordPress that comes in the form of plugins (I know WP itself used to be exploited a lot in the past, not sure what its reputation on its own codebase is these days).
I’ve not ever seen WriteFreely before, but I doubt its ecosystem is anywhere the size of WP. Whether that’s a roadblocker is of course only a decision you can make.

If you’re interested in learning Vim, I’d recommend running vimtutor, which should be present on most systems. But of course, the best way to learn it is to simply use it as much as you can!

Have you found any other decent online-centric banks to switch to? I’ve been wanting to switch away from ONE for pretty much the reasons you listed, but through a basic search I didn’t see anything else to was too appealing to me.
And the 2FA thing is ridiculous, at one point they didn’t actually have the email option (or it was very well hidden) - had a bit of a rough month at some point and wasn’t able to pay my phone bill which got it suspended, I also happened to have my card locked and got kicked out of the app so… I couldn’t unblock my card to pay the phone bill, which I needed to get the 2FA code to login in… Ended up having to reach out to support and they were able to show me how to request a 2FA code over email.
This wouldn’t even be a problem with most sites because I always use TOTP/Webauthn via my Yubikey when I have the option, and for something as critical as my bank account I really do not want SMS/Email to be an option for 2FA (I get why they have it, but I’d like to be able to turn it off for my account).
Ugh, I miss Simple so much. I was alright with ONE until they stripped the virtual card function from pockets… What is the actual point of Pockets now if I have to transfer the money directly back to my main checking area??

One thing the dev mentioned in their comments was that they wanted to keep control over where/how the app is distributed - unfortunately making it source available still makes it so people can go and publish it elsewhere.
Which is not to say that it’s impossible as it currently is, but it would make it easier.
(Even if the license disallows it, plenty of people don’t listen to licenses)
They might’ve done so out of necessity. I don’t know if the dev(s) of the Simple Tools apps were working on it full time, but if they were and just not enough contributions were coming in from it… Well everyone has to eat.
As the saying goes, “everyone has their price”. It’s easy to condemn the developers for their choice until you’re in the exact same scenario as they were. Whether that’s because they were starving, or even just offered enough money to make their lives a lot easier - not too many people would turn it down.
