I’m not sure. On Earth we have the geoid model which uses the ocean as a reference line. I’m not sure how they do it on mars but i assume it’s such that the average height is zero, in other words, if it’s positive on some locations, it needs to be negative at some other locations?

Well the back yard wasn’t really fenced in and neighbors could easily walk in and through as a shortcut to the bus stop, and in fact they did all the time. Anyways i dug the hole and a girl from the neighborhood saw me do that and came to walk by and ask me what the hell i was doing there. i was telling her that i was digging for water, and well, the rest is a secret.
i once dug a hole in my (parent’s) back yard to search for water.
well i didn’t find water but i found a girlfriend. (no joke)

well this is the consequence of a platform not having a downvote button. people think that having a downvote button causes controversies because now people can be angry at other people, but actually it allows people to downvote bad content to remove it from the algorithm without having to click + write a comment.

if the pictures were at least well done, but bruh it’s depressing as shit to look at. no idea, no vision, if a photographer took these pictures i would fire them for having bad taste.

in feddit.org’s case, the anubis loading screen displays for waaay too long. i’ve told the feddit.org admins repeatedly but got no response.
i’m not sure whether lemmy.dbzer0.com still uses it, but i think i remember seeing the loading screen there too. maybe they just reduced the loading time so much that i can’t see it anymore.

i think search engines are … tricky
i always prefer lists and indexes over search engines because search engines feels a bit like voodoo magic to me, it has unpredictable outcomes. for example, sometimes you need just the right keyword for search engines to give you meaningful results, and otherwise it will just not return anything. and that is a lot like chatgpt … you ask it something and it might give you a meaningful response. or it might completely miss the point. when there’s an actual list of communities that is small and complete, then i can go through it manually to check where it might be.
