Linux moment that made you feel like a wizard?3·6 days agoNixOS in a VM for a few weeks and made it how I liked, copied that VM to server to VNC in (laptop battery was suffering), kept customising until i had it nice… and then when it came to wipe my laptop for the nixos setup, I was bit scared.
But low and behold,
nixos-build switch
and then it was all there, just like the VM. Fucking amazing.
Dir name first and then files?
mkcd
mkdir and cd into it.

If you like clicking I think it’s pretty nice with everything in reach + more.
Shoegoo, what we used as skaters to protect from the grip tape. Should get you a bit more out of them.
Or good old leather “school shoes”?
If the aim is to save money, figure out how long it will take you to break even. Then the service life of such a machine
