TriflingToad@sh.itjust.worksto Formula 1@lemmy.world•2025 Austrian Grand Prix - [POST RACE] discussion thread 🏁English3·16 days agoas someone who doesn’t really know a lot about F1 this race was really entertaining in the start, boring as hell in the middle, and entertaining in the end.
Glad for the papayas but man albon crashing max was such a death sentence for entertainment.also I watch on a dodgy site and chat is horrible but also hilarious watching with others so I leave it on before the the race starts
TriflingToad@sh.itjust.worksto Formula 1@lemmy.world•2025 Austrian Grand Prix - [POST RACE] discussion thread 🏁English2·16 days agogood punishment but damn that cost Max a lot of points. I don’t think it makes up for those, but it would also be unfair to give max points for nothing :/
TriflingToad@sh.itjust.worksto LEGO@piefed.social•The 20ish year difference between these two setsEnglish7·22 days agoI like how this also shows the improvement of F1 cars over time also. They’re longer* now and have the wing (loop over the drivers head in case of a flipover).
pretty cool, thanks for sharing!*technically some people consider the cars length a downside, which is fair because it means they accelerate slower and make passing harder. However it is essentially impossible to die in one now, so that’s a plus.

TriflingToad@sh.itjust.worksto Linux@programming.dev•It’s True, “We” Don’t Care About Accessibility on LinuxEnglish21·25 days agoI read the whole article and I’m still kinda confused what the “we” in the title is referring to.
Also and addition to the ‘non disabled people pushing for accomodations even when it isn’t needed then not listening to the disabled people’ conversation, /s should only be used when the sarcasm isn’t obvious.
The entire r/fuckthes sub is autistic people saying how it ruins jokes then non autistic people saying “nO iTs FoR pEoPlE wItH aUtIsM” and saying the sub is ableist and its so annoying how they won’t listen to the very people they’re claiming to fight for.
Not to say I think /s is useless, it definitely has a place when sarcasm is iffy, a good example is making fun of conservatives where people might think you’re serious.
Also the /hj (half joking) one is SO infuriating because there’s 2 halves and one of them is a joke but it doesn’t say which one. It’s never really been an issue for me personally, but it’s a bad system that gets on my nerves.
I’m not sure if I’m putting my thoughts into words well enough to get my point across without sounding like an asshole.
idk I just have some controversial opinions on tone indicators that’s minorly annoying to me and thought this would be a good place to share.

I would consider it underpowered compared to competitors but not outdated (and imo I don’t think better hardware is needed)

I’m not who you were replying to, but I recently got a straight razor and have been cutting myself every time I try it, I don’t really understand how to use it. Could you give some tips?
currently I use shaving cream on my legs then run along against the growth, but any time I have a slight bump or even the fingerprint like ridges on my knees it will cut the top off. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong, is this just how it’s supposed to work or am I doing it incorrectly?
that’s how you know a q&a platforms bad at it’s job lol
does it work as well as the one OP is talking about, or is it just a half working port that’s really difficult to use?
