It’ll probably be done with an overlay/prompt for the user to click on (Unless the advertiser is paying for exposure and not direct traffic idk). But such a popup would provide a hook for a patched version of yt-dl to detect the ad and trim it out of the final video.
Also, shouldn’t a forum signature at all should be enough to screw with AI scrapers? No need to link to anything specific
Semantic/licensing quibbles aside, these futo guys seem pretty based (affectionate). They even use the word “normies” in their goals/value statement.
Seriously tho, with power/wealth as lopsided as it is in america, we really need capitalist class traitors to get anything done and I’m glad people like this exist
That entire process still needs lots of cash up front does it not?
They weren’t already surrendering, ok. I’m not an expert but imo it could be argued that the Soviet Union joining the war (as they were about to) might have given Japanese command an excuse to surrender while saving face, or triggered an internal coup or something. They weren’t stupid, surely they could see the writing on the wall.

the lemmy devs added per user instance blocks a while ago. Check your settings page
well good news, the readme implies they are planning on it
This article is over a year old and you all seem to be buying it as relevant to the current state of things. Can anyone reproduce the experiments/conversations where it fumbles with double negatives etc? I tried a couple examples with chatgpt and it seemed to handle them fine
knowing how government institutions work I’d also assume they can’t get the libraries to switch to a new program
It’s not centralization if not everyone trusts the same server, which there is no obligation to
Do you have a source on the devs endorsing review bombing for leverage? I only see posts about the CEO apologizing for the policy.
That’s just the wages of living in a huge postmodernist society that produces a vast amount of media. We no longer have centralized institutions (or rather they’re losing relative importance) so you have to go looking through the depths of either recommendation algorithms or topical forums
I mean the high quality paid games are still around, and I’m reasonably sure new ones are still being made. They’re not a lost art, just not as popular as free games
I’m fairly sure those were paid tho

Can someone less lazy than me explain how it’s functionally different from sharing images on e.g. mastodon?
It might help to have the extension developed/endorsed by mastodon and to have all mastodon instances subtly nagging you to install it.
Also this is only needed for desktop, on mobile web sites can use the OS’s built in share functionality through the web share api
This is a use case for a browser extension imo. never understood the point of having share buttons built in to a site, esp for services I don’t use.
With an extension the user has a smoother, customizable UI - and no need for the web developer to do anything except provide a shareable url.
Have you looked into whether people with the condition are more likely to be LGBT? I get the feeling like it could be linked
