I am so mad at this decision, and at all the trolls, bots and haters that influenced this outcome. Just like they did with Discovery, Picard, and Prodigy.

These shows were a much needed beacon of hope in a world facing again its darkest times.

I’m a huge fan of Kurtzman and all the New Trek that he created. I love them all. I often rewatch Discovery, Picard, even Academy. I need it. I need this. The entire world is gone to shit, and his shows, his creations, are the only thing that sooth me right now.

These comments, like the one you just made, are exactly why Academy has been cancelled, why Discovery was cut short, and so forth.

I truly dislike Star Wars. And yet, you’ll never see me bitching about it in their forums. I don’t think about it at all until something about it shows up, and even then, I just ignore it and move along, like any normal person would do.

retro art deco

I’m no expert though that’s how it appears to me, though I just realized I should have written: “retro-futuristic art deco”…

The detached nacelles, I can somehow live with it, but those weird curves and lack of windows on most new ships are just too off for my brain… it’s like they were made only in CGI with no physical models were ever made, which feels kinda “wrong” and unpractical… as an example, comparing the Enterprise D in Picard season 3, vs in the series and movies. As much as they try, it’s just not the same.

However, the new Academy ship feels mostly okay with me—aside from the Atrium protruding under, which feels is missing something…

Absolutely loved the design of the Enterprise D at the time. And still do.

Loved the Enterprise E when it came out in the movies.

Also quite fond of pre-Burn Discovery’s “retro-futuristic Art Deco” style. *

And DS9.

Not yet a fan of the new ships in Academy; it’s like they were made without much thought of function, but made only to look more alien.

Incredible season and exceptional finale, and awesome acting from everyone!

Those who are snubbing STA are truly missing something.

My only little disappointment is not seeing Discovery blipping first right as the blockade is lifted, at least a few seconds or a minute before all other ships warping in. I understand why they didn’t and how it would have stolen the show, but still, I can only imagine Burnham and Action Saru teleporting right next to Nus Braka to arrest him only a second after Discovery arrives… and to find out there is another heavy lot of history as well between the three! I’d just love a one-episode team up of the Athena with Discovery and its crew in season 2 or 3 !!

While I didn’t enjoy Section 31 at all—even though I do enjoy all new Trek—I do wonder how different and much more enjoyable it could have been [at least for me] as a full season instead of a movie, as I remember the beginning at the bar was quite interesting and promising…
