  • Depends. My grandpa used to say he liked to be left alone on the porch because he could either review 60 years in an hour, or blink a few times for the season to pass over.

I ain’t hit 40 yet, but I already understand the power within subjectivity and maintaining an awareness of time.

Given a few eons and a job that is both vitally necessary and endlessly incomplete, and I know exactly how it would go.

Fast flashes of grim (heh) determination towards a task and then back to the blank. But the blank is inconsequential and isn’t counted, awareness jumps from task to task, the seconds or years in-between do not exist.

Unless a reason appears. Maybe Timmy almost wins the game for his soul because I let myself get rusty. Maybe Timmy dies in such a spectacularly fantastical fashion that it shakes me out of the work humdrum long enough to go (that’s rad) and time would count differently again, for a time.

I don’t know, I’m not an immortal servitor of peace and rest.

  • Imo, the ladder goes:

Rest of the terrestrial animal kingdom < Bengal Tigers < Polar Bears < Hippos < Rhinos < Elephants < Honey Badger.

That’s as far as the ratio of animal capability to fuck something up divided by willingness to kick something else’s ass goes.

I actually think the Tiger and the Polar Bear are fairly close in terms of power and lethality, and it would all come down to whether the Tiger had the opportunity to stalk, which it probably would avoid doing anyways to something the size of a Polar Bear.

I still do not know where Honey Badger rightfully belongs on Earth’s tourney ladders, so I rather err on the side of caution there in case one reads this.

  • “Me: Oh a list of assholes to avoid, nice. Shopify, who tf is that? EZ. 1 keep sucks, lol. Dell…they make trash, easy. Meta, lol, already done. Coin base more like Rube Base am I right? Digital Ocean still relevant in the hosting world? I thought they’d have gone the way of Go Daddy, Ez boycott list.”

    “Brain: You skipped one.”

    “Me: reads again Fffffffffffuuuu”

I have no fucking clue how to effectively boycott CloudFlare, gang. That’s…kinda the point of how they positioned themselves.

Stupid fucks, they’re the only one who stands to make as much hand over fist whether open source enshitifies or not. Except if it enshitifies enough, their spigot stops spilling money.

Greedy cunts and the allure of control, what a dynamic duo.

The fuck to use to replace the quintillion different services CF sells?

    Asking for…several friends, actually.

  • All of which the physicist can trivially account for, control and variable test around, should the requested question be updated to require it.

The requested question did not include “In all possible scenarios”, thus determining the volume of the sphere via physics calculation at the most average of conditions, is the most correct valid solution, absent further requirement parameters.

  • Ayup. I’ve noticed and wondered the same thing. Very logical and great ROI, it spreads itself

    And the cost is what?

A little Thiel anti-christ buffoonery here, a little Zuck has to make a blog post about the wonders of the happy AI there?

Their biggest issue is just self correcting the sentiment gauge for their vanity, the machinery to ensure they are the only ones who use and control the tooling with proficiency is already in place from their perspective.

  • Between the description and watching the short tribute video, I definitely felt some type of way.

Maybe I’ve been watching too much analog horror, ARGs, and liminal nonsense, but the short video definitely tapped into that same headspace.

Nothing can bring the originals back, but if you were to make some sort of “Childhood memory” map, and tap into the same vibes that tribute had, well, it would definitely be something.

  • This is great advice and recommended!

There is one caveat, that might bite an inexperienced person moving a world from a realm to dedicated hosting.

Marketplace add-ons are encrypted and cannot be directly transferred over. Many add-ons are available in both marketplace and other environments (Curse forge for example), but some of the most popular or obscure ones might not be (e.g. BOP: One of the best biomes add-ons, arguably the best on Bedrock, but only the Java version is available on Curse, its Bedrock version is marketplace only).

So depending on how the realm is set up and which add-ons it has running, it’s some extra work to either locate suitable replacements, start a private port/fork, or make replacements from scratch.
