I’m sick and tired of the dreary dismal weather here in the frozen Norf of Minnesota. The leaves are all gone and all the maples and ash trees are bare except of the pines.
The fish do not want to bite right now as we all wait for the lake to turn over and freeze. I can’t wait to get enough ice to be able to walk or drive out there to fish.
It’s too wet to go out hunting too. It sucks to get rained on in the forest. And it makes the scent conditions poor for the dog also.
The little birdies are huddling out there somewhere and not even coming out to visit my feeders right now.
All I’ve been doing is messing with a new CAD program I heard about. (it’s a hobby) And finding all the weak spots in the program. Fillets are hit and miss if they will even work. I could manually draw them in, but I’m not quite there yet with the tools to do so.
I NEED some sun! I NEED some time out in the forest!
Ooof. It’s only November, my brother.
I just installed OpenSCAD last night to check it out. I use Blender for everything because I know it well, but there are times when parametric would work better. I downloaded a hinge model from Printables that has a bunch of parameters to change in OpenSCAD to easily change the hinge design. That’s pretty cool.
You will be joyed to hear we had about a 30 minute snow shower this morning. So winter has made her appearance felt and known. On the upside, the sun is rumored to make an appearance sometime this afternoon.
I’m to lazy to learn OpenSCAD and I don’t want to think like a programmer. I got enough problems as it is. Modern 3D CAD programs are parametric enough for me. And I can always whip up a spreadsheet for more parametric goodness too.
Still, I bow before your greater skills than mine if you can make both Blender and OpenSCAD work. Because I can’t!
Sameeeee here broooooo
Honestly try supplementing Vitamin D, it helps me a lot to deal with the winters here in michigan when you cant get any sun for weeks.
I normally take extra vitamin D, but I’m post surgery and still having issues with bleeding. So no vitamin D, iron, or nsaids for me yet.
Vodka helps!
I’m a bourbon or scotch person myself. But I can’t have even a wee drop due to recovering from surgery yet.
Yeah, it sucks to be sick in autumn.
There is so much fun to do this time of year!
I’m originally from Iowa but I’ve been living in Los Angeles for the past 13 years. One time I went back to visit family around this time of year and it was so dreary that one day when the sun came out I literally hugged the window. You do adapt and take the sun for granted. All this to say that vitamin D might actually be worthwhile.
Vitamin D is something I take. But not right now because I’m recovering from surgery and supplements like Vitamin D and Iron or NSAIDs are known to inhibit coagulation and allow for more and longer bleeding post-op. A surgeon will request you stop taking such things a least a week before and after surgery these days.

Here’s some sun for you.
That’s nice sun! There is a vicious rumor that we are expecting a partly sunny day finally today.
