Honestly he’s pure sunk cost fallacy at this point.
The dude never should have been back to the NFL after what he did. It’s an embarrassment to the NFL and the Browns the he ever played a snap again. Want to make that clear.
What’s really brain rotting about it though is that right now he just sucks. He’s not good. The reason the browns fans cheered when he got hurt wasn’t because of his record (sadly). It’s because he’s been terrible.
Starting him to “win at all costs” would at least have some sick sense making. But starting him because you paid a lot of money for him even though he’s destroying your product on and off the field is such a baffling move. Like fucking why?? If you can’t cut him then give him a fucking clipboard and call it a day.
The worst part was the structure of his Cleveland deal. They gave him almost nothing in year one, anticipating the suspension. This is exactly what they deserve for dealing this way.
I forgot about that tidbit. Yeah the Haslams really just said “fuck if he’s a rapist we wanna win”. I do remember when a lot of the press was chewing him out at some point he said something like “I think we’re forgetting this guy is a really great football player!”
Yeah Cleveland deserves to suck until eternity now. I used to feel bad for the fans for their unrewarded loyalty but after this stunt if they didn’t jump ship they deserve it at this point.
And it’s not just the NFL.
Look around, there are only consequences if you’re poor.
Steal something? Are you an AI company? Oh that’s ok! Here you can charge money for it now! Yay!
Oh you’re a hungry person caught stealing? Straight to jail.
The NFL is an extremely visible perpetrator of the failings of our society.
