Fun fact, Johnny Appleseed got famous not because he was spreading good, edible apple seeds. He got famous because the apples that grew from the seeds were good for making alcohol
Nice. I feel like this is pretty common for apple seeds. Even if you take the seeds from your favorite kind of apple, the shit that grows will be unpredictable.

Yeah the seeds from fruit/vegetables grown from seeds from big companies like Monsanto are programmed to not produce similar or viable fruit/vegetables so that farmers have to keep buying more seeds every year.
Both that and the pollen that fertilises the flower might not be from the desired variety
Fun fact, As a 14yo I thought this song was about Johnny Appleseed and it got me into punk. I later discovered it was about a band member who had a lot of sex with different people while on tour
I’ve heard the same about Chapman (Johnny Appleseed). Apple’s weren’t the only seed he was planting on his tours…
