Max Verstappen's team was disqualified after he claimed a second GT3 race victory at the Nurburgring ahead of his debut at the iconic circuit's 24-hour endurance race in May.
Yeah tough to hear. Wonder how much of that minute lead can be explained by an extra set of fresh tires.
Either way, it was a fun race to watch. I just started watching NLS and some IMSA racing towards the end of last season, and I think I prefer it over F1 now. The racing is legit, and having multiple classes on track at the same time always keeps it interesting. I think Max will really add some spice to it whenever we get to see him do a recovery drive like we’ve seen him do in F1
I’ve been dipping my toes in Formula E and IndyCar this year and yeah the racing is much better than the past few years of F1. The '26 regs are off to a decent start and I hope the good racing continues.
Aged unfortunately like milk https://www.espn.com/f1/story/_/id/48269340/max-verstappen-wins-gt3-race-nurburgring
Damn, didn’t Team Redline get DQed from a virtual Nurburgring event for a ride height exploit? Sim skills really do translate to real life 😭
ETA: Back in June '25

None of it. The extra set was used during qualifying. All teams used 3 sets during the race (three pitstops)
So would it be the race engineers fault for miscounting?
