If I remember correctly, “earlier” in this case means most of them but the last ones. I haven’t seen one of these in my life.

Unironically this isn’t far off. Wii Us are somewhat rare and sought after these days. It’s one of the better ways to play Wii games on HDTVs iirc
Its funny that the Wii alone can play all the n64 and GameCube games out there. But that requires effort and this is way funnier in my opinion. Thank you for posting this OP.
Wii emulator for N64 isn’t going to be as accurate as the real N64 console though.
