However, when addressing the principles of the Republican Party, Johnson said, “We fought the Nazis. We’ve defended that evil ideology.”

Johnson was addressing an incident where a staffer of Republican Representative Dave Taylor appeared to have a swastika in the background of a video call.

“He says that that’s not his, and there’s a proper investigation ongoing,” Johnson told reporters. “And the congressman did exactly what he should have done and that is report it.”

Johnson said he could not comment more until the investigation has been completed, but “obviously, that is not the principles of the Republican Party.”

    It’s really not obvious, Mike.

I mean, it’s very obvious that he meant to say “we’ve defended against…” The real problem is, you aren’t defending against it now! You are defending that evil ideology now. Nazis are in the Republican party, in positions if power and influence, and there is no way to be sure who isn’t a Nazi.

So for anyone who sees the gaffe and thinks “Oh, he just misspoke.” Yeah, probably. But recognize that it’s a problem that we even have to question it in the first place. Whether House Speaker Mike Johnson is a Nazi or not, he clearly did not intend to admit to being a Nazi. THE PROBLEM IS THE FIRST PART OF THE PREVIOUS SENTENCE. It’s not the gaffe.

Right, my point is that maybe it’s Freudian, or maybe it’s just a brain fart. The larger issue is that we don’t know for sure. Like, if Pelosi had made the same mistake, you could safely assume she isn’t a Nazi. Boehner is a douche canoe and a shitbag bigot, but we’re fairly confident he wasn’t a Nazi. Hastert was a criminal and a pedophile, but he wasn’t a Nazi. Gingrich, Ryan, Michel, none of them Nazis.

Mike Johnson? Might be an actual Nazi.

We got here today because people you named have been planning and implementing those plans since they were in office, and it began with the Business Plot, maybe before.

That’s fair. I’d go all the way back to Nixon, and you’re right that we are at the end of a long path they have been marching us down.

But I don’t believe they were Nazis. I believe they were selfish, myopic, cruel, ignorant, bigoted, and often simply evil. Not Nazis, though.

Didn’t he just do this last week, or was that Vance? They’re Nazis.

Here is the article on the guy’s swastika.

Republican Congressman Responds to ‘Vile’ Swastika Found in Office

An image surfaced on X on Wednesday that appeared to show a small American flag altered to include a red swastika among its stripes pinned on a board in Taylor’s office in Washington, D.C.

The image was publicized when an X account called The Rooster, which comments on Ohio politics, shared a screengrab from a virtual meeting that appeared to show one of Taylor’s staffers, Angelo Elia, sitting in front of the flag.

“We stand for the founding principles of America. You want me to articulate them for you right now? Individual freedom, limited government, the rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets, human dignity. The things that lead to human flourishing," Johnson said.

Oh that’s what’s happening? Let me know which of the 7 currently isn’t under attack. Take your time.

Outside of a history museum, I don’t think I’ve ever found myself in a room with a swastika anywhere, ever.
