The book describes the boat as being made of pink glass
I’m pretty sure the book describes the boat as being made of pink sugar (which looks like glass).

The chicken part was not in the book, I might add. Or the 2005 Tim Burton adaptation, for that matter.

On Android, this is in the Android Settings > Apps > Choose default apps > Opening links
Ensure “Open links in apps” is enabled.
Locate “Summit” in the app list and ensure that “Open supported links” is enabled.
You can even manually toggle which instances open in the app and which don’t, though I’m not sure why anyone would want this.

Yeah, we should be yeeting probes throughout and out of the solar system to learn as much as we can. If the probes of today are overtaken by the probes of tomorrow, that’s just a bonus, and should be cause for celebration.

Stunning work!
You should crosspost to !lego@piefed.social too, as that community is a bit more active than this one.

I’ve had issues with this as well.
Yep, it is client side. It might not work for all uses. It only normally hides at most 200 posts in my average use case.
I don’t mind it being slow, but it might be nice to have an indicator that the app is still doing something in the background, and hasn’t frozen or crashed.
How does the app determine when enough posts have been hidden? Does it just hide the last 500 read posts, or does it keep hiding posts until it finds 50 unread posts?
Would it be possible to display any of this information to the user while the process is running?

“How much greebling should we use?”
“Yes.”

My guess would be trading with fletcher villagers for emeralds.

video I came across where the subject is building a 5x scale version of the preceding set from 3D printed parts
Thanks for sharing! That was a great watch.

Automatic comment replies based on keywords or key phrases.
Basically, if a comment contains a specific string, the automod would reply with a corresponding string, configurable by the community moderators.
Would this be doable?

Not that I’ve found so far, but I’ll try to pay attention. I do have it right now, though:

ingredients that are unpronounceable
Skill issue :)

Atmospheric swelling would have devastating effects on LEO megaconstellations, but I doubt that GPS satellites way out at 20,000 km would be noticeably affected.

Might it be wise to build some rad-hardened GPS satellites to have on standby?

My app just updated to 1.72.4 (298), and this bug seems to be still present.

My app just updated to 1.72.4 (v298), and can confirm that the bug is fixed! Thank you for all the work that you do on this app!

the server auto-marks posts as read as soon as you fetch them and the app fetches the previous and next posts
Ah, that makes sense.
I’m going to disagree with you there. The addition of the scene where Charlie Bucket and Grandpa Joe surreptitiously consume the Fizzy Lifting drink against Willy Wonka’s instructions completely undermines their characters as the “polite, non-entitled ticketholders”. This forced the screenwriters to add the Slugworth scene at the end of the film to provide a reason why Charlie should be given the factory.
While the 2005 movie also has its flaws, they at least didn’t change critical aspects of the plot, and also preserved the Oompa Loompa songs as they were in the book.
