I had an ASCII Grip for the original Playstation that I really loved. It was a one-handed controller that I mostly used to play RPGs, and although it took a little getting used to, I eventually got so comfortable with it I could menu faster with the Grip than with a normal pad!
Utopia Planitia looks more rustic than I thought it’d be!
Fair enough, and if all the outgoing traffic to Reddit is innocuous, then there’s nothing to hide. Not great if it is some kind of hub of an operation to influence Reddit.
Or it’s an exit node for some internal network/VPN.
Which would be stupid opsec, but then again…
Fair enough. It seems that I (and the author of the article) ended up being a little more retro than initially intended. 😅
Looks like the creator made the video private, as it seems the warning screen in the game that tells people not to stream certain parts of it, may be a translation error. Leaving the post up in case anyone wants to discuss the issues around it, but I wanted to update to explain why the video is no longer available
ETA: Well, it looks like the whole thing was just a big misunderstanding, thank goodness.
Fair. I’ll try to remember to do Archive.ps links from now on.
That’s a nice looking cabinet! I always love to see DIY cabs.
I also did a shmups-only list on Deku Deals (for console games): https://www.dekudeals.com/wishlist/7b7d4wdkn3
Thank you :)
That rotating monitor is an amazing feature! Never seen anything like it before on a home arcade.
For sure! I’d love to see a well done version of that, too.
All the user reviews on Steam are positive, but there’s only 10 reviews total so take it with a grain of salt. ShmupDB recommends it, too, which I think is a good sign. Haven’t bought it myself yet, and my backlog is ridiculous at the moment anyway, but I’ve wishlisted it. Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer.
Very welcome! It’s a fascinating read.
That’s a pretty great starting point!
I was a big fan of the ASCII Grip back in the Playstation 1 days. Used to sit in my room all night playing Final Fantasy Tactics with one hand, and chain-smoking with the other. Not the best time in my life, but at least the controller was top notch.
That’s the one!
