Cake day: July 3rd, 2023

  • My 2nd cake day was going to be a few days after shutdown :(

Lemm.ee was a fantastic instance, it will be greatly missed. Huge thanks to the admins and owner that made it happen for so long.

A shame the communities will be lost in the transition, the movies/television communities are genuinely cursed. This is the 4th or 5th time people moved that community.

I guess now would be a good time to give Piefed another shot. I love Lemmy and all, but new features have stalled for too long and I’m ready for some change.

    So long, lemm.ee

Thank you. I think most communities need to enforce a rule like this because there are a lot of ridiculous people on the platform. I post a ton on /c/games and /c/movies and I’m still getting a lot of comments that are essentially whining about hating the company that made it or telling others to stop enjoying it. If you’re on a gaming community and aren’t here to talk about gaming, why ARE you here in the first place?

Shoutout to a lot of times I post about a new game and get occasional comments similar to “Ew why would I buy a 70 euro game when I can wait 2 years to buy it at 15 euros”. adds absolutely nothing to the conversation. Also the occasional “is this post an ad???” comment for posting an article about upcoming games.

  • Fisk with the mortal kombat fatality, I didn’t expect straight up gore in a Disney show.

That was a great episode. Glad we got Punisher and Karen back. My biggest takeaway from this season is that I’m excited for the next one, because there were too many issues behind the scenes for season 1 to be very good.

Episode 8 and 9 were the show that we should’ve gotten from the start. They were excellent. A different team made episodes 2-7 and they have serious pacing issues. I don’t know if Muse was written out of the show to make room for 8 & 9 or what, because his ending was unsatisfying and rushed.

Hopefully now that season 2 isn’t torn between different teams, it can be a lot more consistent.

  • That was very abrupt… We finally spend 10 minutes with Muse and before we know it, he’s dead. The way the storyline ended also felt rushed. So the police and Matt instantly identified from scribbly warbly paintings that it was Heather? Out of the millions of women in NYC? I’m kinda disappointed.

Also the whole “mentally ill psychopath obsessed with his therapist and tries killing her” thing is way too close to Bullseye in season 3. It wouldn’t have bothered me as much if it weren’t from the season right before this.

Still a good episode, but man, this show has pacing issues. I was hoping it’d be as good as the Netflix one.

  • That was… Something. Clearly the weakest episode in the series so far, and they knew everybody would be miffed about it so they dropped episode 6 at the same time.

Disney+ shoehorned this episode in to tie into Ms Marvel obviously. The tone was goofy compared to how grounded daredevil usually is. The music was also really on the nose, I can’t explain it, it’s just so “Disney” coded. Thank god the rest of the show isn’t like this.

Disappointing they had a filler episode in an already short season… Sigh…
