I’m not partial to it, but more power to y’all who like it. I’ll watch the time-lapse nonetheless.
I’m just here to have a good time 🤗

IN SPACE!
Oh, didn’t notice that the title says love or hate.
So I hate time sinks, but I love roguelikes/roguelites that have well done metaprogression and also allow you to have fun with ridiculous overpowered builds.
Ubisoft is the worst offender!
There’s a special level of hell for people that do that!
Time sinks in MMOs at least give you something to show off to other players. Doing this stuff in single player is the worst.
I suppose some games could be an acquired taste, but usually the need to invest time before you can have any fun is just bad game design.
Any sort of not respecting the player’s time: grind, making the player do the computer’s job (e.g., not having an auto-sort button for the inventory), time sinks, unskippable cutscenes, slow walking etc.
Well, it adds a bit of suspense to a horror game. Not very scary if you can just save every minute.
This is NOT how you use text-shadow! 🤮
To me they’re two different things, to be used in different ways, which is a good thing, I suppose.
That’s not the end of the world, but fragmentation of the Web certainly doesn’t benefit anyone.
That’s a good question. Safari market share isn’t as big as Chrome’s (62.55% vs 20.5%, according to statcounter), but it’s still the 2nd largest. Also note that the WEI proposal appeared around May but made the news only now.
Perhaps something akin to this, sleeper cells for some nefarious purpose, e.g. influencing elections.
Maybe when we allowed money (here represented by the size of the browser market share) to translate directly into political power (here represented by the ability to enforce arbitrary standards).
Me too. What’s your reason not to create posts? I don’t do it much because I’m anxious about the possible low quality of my contributions.
