I despise and ignore battery powered electronics that don’t need 18650s. And i use Arch, BTW. :p
Polymath. Bad in math. Collecting mechanical calculators, likes subtractive manufacturing of wooden implements. Eat the rich. Don’t forget the fiber, danger of constipation. Learn. Get people to learn. By all means. All!

Yo dawg, we’ve heard you like planes? We put a plane into your plane so you can fly while you’re flying.
Am I just old? Who gets the reference?
That’s funny, that’s exactly the method I stored my cdRoms back in the day.
I actually forgot the name, so long ago that I ripped audio cds but now that I read it, I have an acute attack of nostalgia. Awesome program! Thanks for the nostalgia btw.
Language learning apps work only to give you an overview over a language, to look if a language is worth learning. You really wanna learn? Search for someone who’s mother tongue it is in your vicinity and contact him. You’ll be surprised, how much fun that’ll be, your friendly Klingon in the neighborhood, crashing your door in at 3 a.m., hellish drunk, just to show you his new Gagh recipe, or you’ll find yourself as a slave in the fictional world of an obese old creep. Learning new languages is awesome, right?
Ever heard of the Voynich manuscript? Imo human expression finds a way, church or not, technology or not.
That’s idiotic
Could be misunderstood, here’s a comma for you: " , "
Nothing is ultimately safe, life is uncertainty. That doesn’t mean one should not care about privacy, but it’s apparently very difficult to tell people to use human sense and that pink mass between their ears. If I wanna use a wood planer, I should first learn at least the basics. They all want something “that just works”. Newsflash, nothing “just works”, paleolithic people knew that already.
Morality and ethicality has nothing whatsoever to do with legal or illegal. Legality is a concept obtruded to people by a minority, elected by a miseducated and misled majority. What OP meant was obviously the spirit of sharing as opposed to profit at all costs. And the answer lies in itself, the spirit of sharing includes sharing (hence the name) and not only leeching, that’s what private trackers try to assure the users do.
I actually and honestly could live without any social media. The only thing I read is Lemmy anyway, I never got why I should read Twitter-like stuff, that’s too out of context, like the walls in the school toilet. The rest I just forgot. Something with face… My prediction is that the whole ordeal will die anyways in the next 10 years, but until then many many people will let themselves be milked by the few. But that’s how the world is, I guess. People are still joining organized religion, too, even though it’s a few thousand years since they did something good without ulterior motives. Gotta go now, there’s a swedish chair that’s waiting in my workshop to be created. Bye
I mean, seriously, who is still watching this streaming stuff? I mean I've heard there are still DVD renting stores somewhere… It'll die eventually and they know it, they just wanna extract as much as possible from the rotting corpse & the worst is: they'll get it.
Streaming will become like tv eventually, if it isn't already: only old and/or simple people are interested in it. Almost all people I know don't watch tv anymore. And let's be honest: 99.99% of the streaming crap is the same boring assembly line writing that didn't work in the 90s and doesn't work now. And to search for the 0.01% - nah, I'll rather be in my workshop.
"treasure trove of reality tv" is like saying "most tasty shit omelette" or "incredibly valuable piece of dirty plastic"
What is the actual advantage of Microsoft office in contrast to libre office or open office?
Does anyone remember the asian (?) Platform “multiply”, long long ago, where you could upload music for your friends? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiply_(website)?wprov=sfla1
I really liked it back in the day, then it died. I hope Lemmy will preservere…
I have that. I call it “shitty neighbour syndrome”.
