For those on the fence about Borg Backup because it’s a command line app, FYI there’s a great frontend GUI for it called Vorta (yeah, in line with the Trek theme lol) that works really well. I don’t see it mentioned often, thought I’d pass that along. Might want to avoid the Flatpak version if you need to back up stuff outside your /home dir.

1989. I was 13. I was taping music videos on VHS and watched the music video debut of Metallica’s “One” as it happened. It was the full length version with the scenes from Johnny Got His Gun, and I was glued to the set for all seven minutes. With Johnny’s voice fading (“s…o…s…”) into the darkness as the video ended, I was gripped by all kinds of intense feelings…sadness, anger, fear, confusion, relief, regret. It was metal, and I loved it. I had spent the previous two years wearing out my Def Leppard and Motley Crue tapes and really digging glam rock/metal in general, but this was my first exposure to real metal. Over time I’d eventually discover Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, and my love of thrash.

I don’t think Tailscale counts as a reverse proxy, but it does support HTTP/3 and QUIC so that suggestion may not apply here. Still, it might be worth double-checking to see if they are disabled. Also, have you tried disabling Tailscale altogether and connecting directly?

You aren’t the only one to report halted playback in Navidrome. It appears to be a known open issue that goes back a few years.

One user in particular suggested last fall that the source of the bug may not be Navidrome’s fault. Are you using a reverse proxy?

For those that are still struggling with this issue, I can confirm that (in my case) the problem was related to the HTTP/3 QUIC protocol (not a Navidrome issue). As suggested by a few others in this thread, the issue can be addressed by ensuring that your reverse proxy supports and is configured for HTTP/3 QUIC, or by turning off the QUIC protocol on the client side (browser configuration), or by disabling HTTP/3 (with QUIC) feature on Cloudflare.

Yeah, it’s bizarre they even focused on TOS when Janeway is the obvious choice. It’s still cool, but it feels like a missed opportunity.

It’s certainly a nice idea for a community, but there’s already content in there that can be used to spread/reinforce climate change denial.

Fewer people are dying, the planet is fine!” Again, the intent is admirable, but this kind of content is ripe for repackaging as anti-climate propaganda. I picked up Tekworld #1 eons ago, back when I was a young voracious comic book collector and would buy anything off the “New” shelf. I never bothered to read it…I figured it couldn’t be worse than TJ Hooker, but it appears I was terribly mistaken. Yeah, thank your lucky stars that gaming with a mouse became a fuckin thing, because hitting PGUP and PGDN to pan up & down sucked back then too.

That’s my personal favorite. It’s something I didn’t hear when I was younger, so now I try to recall it when I realize I am being too hard on myself. The fact that it’s a Picard quote makes it more reassuring, if not comforting in a way.

What the Voyager finale needed was an epilogue - a short bookend scene after the plot has been resolved so the audience can feel closure. TNG handled this wonderfully with the card game in Riker’s quarters in its series finale, which is a satisfying, memorable bookend to a long-running show. Voyager didn’t get that epilogue treatment, which boggles the mind because it’s a basic story mechanism and only needed a minute of screen time. That show deserved better.

My question is where, there is a community center of sorts but it’s a bit off the beaten path. There wasn’t a park or similar community space the last time I was there (admittedly that was 20 years ago). They could put it at the airport or in front of the hotel or maybe down by the docks but that’s about it.

According to The Register, it’s in Ruth Pond Park? I looked it up in Google Maps, and it looks like it’s nicely developed enough that a statue somewhere out there wouldn’t look too weird.
