Basically to make lemmy content more easily accessible on mastadon
Yeah it’s ransomware, so at the worst the code will be sold to the highest bidder (probably tencent)
It was only a matter of time before “sexy waifu Pokémon with guns” after the success of palworld
“Do you even know who my dad dictator is”
He’s not wrong though. Tech isn’t being developed to improve people’s lives. It’s being developed to deepen pockets. There is a very low chance of a future in which NY becomes some “old school holdout championing people’s rights against the tyranny of self driving cars,” so better to work on regulation, adoption, and putting systems in place now to provide the best public benefit rather than either banning it outright until market forces overwhelm that, or ignoring regulation and letting market forces dictate what rules would be in place there (hint: none). Hate capitalism, not the Mayor that is trying to plan ahead for the city
But yuzu is open source as well: https://github.com/yuzu-emu/yuzu
My guess is they are just tackling one thing at a time, and ryujinx is next on their chopping block. It’s entirely possible they’ve already sent cease and desist notices to to ryujinx
Do they have a patreon? I think part of Nintendo’s extermination policy is “if you try to make money from it, it’s lost revenue, and we will murder you.” For example dolphin has been around forever, but always open source and without a patreon or the like
EDIT:
Answered my own question
RIP
The textures themselves remain at their original resolution. But anything that was 3d rendered in the original console (like the karts and characters in Mario kart) will now have crisp lines. Additionally many emulators will support some form of texture scaling to make the original low texture stuff look marginally better. On a system like N64 it’s a toss up on looking significantly better. But on a PS3 emulator for example, since many environments are rendered in 3d, it’s a considerable improvement
As John Oliver does a great job of pointing out what “carbon offsets” really mean here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6p8zAbFKpW0
You’re being very black and white here. Engineering work both uses the scientific method (e.g. test a hypothesis to prove it true) and the literal science (e.g. proven hypotheses) to achieve the structures we have today.
In the same way, the formal study of computer science is through the scientific method, but that often comes as a byproduct of trying something new through software development, and proving, through hypotheses and testing, that the outcome is repeatable. Many computer science white papers have come out of hacky software engineering projects that were then formalized.
You’re saying pure cryptography is science though. Is it only science if you are a tenured professor or research professional, or it gets published in a journal? (Which as I outlined, software dev does all the time). I’m confused
Yeah my car has remote start. I can do it with no subscription with my remote. Additionally I can pay for OnStar and do it through the app. It also has heated seats and a heated steering wheel, and unlike some brands those aren’t locked behind a subscription since they are literally just vehicle hardware, not cloud services.
This is very true. I use iSH on my phone to run python scripts and ssh into servers, I use Working Copy to make git commits from the toilet or my bed. Like for all intents and purposes, my phone is a cyberpunk “deck,” but I suppose cyberpunk is literally named “The Dark Future” for a reason, considering all else that is going on.
It’s on the most 1337 hax0r website known to man, GitHub
It’s a technicolor something.
It’s Comcast’s standard gateway now too
Nah, it was a live broadcast service. It wasn’t a common website, or a file hosting service. It was a local paid IPTV network advertised through word of mouth. Probably sold hacked amazon fire sticks that connected to an IP that was decrypting live tv signals.
Basically: buy a cable tv subscription. Decrypt all the “channels” into IPTV steams. Sell access (probably with pre-configured hardware) to the streams for an amount cheaper than it would be to subscribe to the cable tv service yourself.
Cool, but it introduces a bunch of bugs in MGS2. You’re better off getting an emulator, the HD collection, and increasing the internal rendering resolution to 4k. Can even play peace walker in 4k that way
