For stuff like this I use cockpit. There’s no mobile app but the web ui is good enough to use it on mobile.

Pass - Proton team picked up light theme recently so I’m guessing it will available in a year or so :)
Drive - had no described issues. I can search photos using its names. However, photos are not searchable through the web app.
VPN - true, dark mode only which sucks but honestly, I open it only where there’s an issue with the VPN which is rare nowadays.
What I can say it that Proton products are for somehow “aware” users, which are not discourage by occasional issues. I would say it’s a late beta state of things. I’ve been a happy Proton customer for quite few years and cannot complain about it. The best thing is that when I had an issue, I’ve raised a support ticket and within a day or two it got fixed. Or if it was an user(aka me) issue, it got explained with as much details as I needed.
Don’t want to be a devil’s advocate but can you provide something more than “I’m offended”? Let’s say issue ticket(s), status page links, other people complaining, etc?
I was about to suggest the same thing with a small caveat. From what I know, communication between doorbell and base station is unencrypted. I might be wrong, it’s been a while since I read about it, so double check the current status.

Try GrapheneOS. It has some quirks but it’s a good alternative. Been using it for two years on a phone and I’m considering getting it on a tablet.
I know you said you’re not looking for a Pocket like solution but honestly it’s the best solution for your problem. With tabs you might lose it all when the browser crashes and for some reason you’re not able to restore the session. If you don’t want to use cloud based solutions like mentioned before, check Linkwarden which can be selfhosted.

GrapheneOS running on Pixel phone.
And people ask me why I de-appled…
I would be happy to see privacy respecting AI assistant in Proton products, especially Proton Mail. English is not my native language and every now and then I need to use 3rd party services to compose a professional sounding email. Having this built into Proton Mail would have made my life easier. Also, having a feature that detects and labels faces and features in the pictures stored in a Proton Drive would be an amazing addition.
Ollama seems pretty good. I’ve been playing with it recently and when combined with openwebui, it makes pretty nice local chatgpt. But I agree, there are more pressing issues I would like to see fixed/implemented.
ollama + openwebui. Selfhosted (hasn’t check if it tries to contact mothership yet) and pretty good with the answers, especially when ran on GPU.
There was a question about AI and privacy. Don’t remember exactly what it was but it was something like “What do you care the most about integrating AI into products” and most of the answers were about the privacy.
I have not. I will have a read, thanks.
Try Inoreader. I’m using free plan but paid one gives a lot of features you could find interesting.
I’ve been using Inoreader for few years and there is no single thing I could complain about. It’s good enough that I’m considering buying a subscription.
web01, web02, … db01, db02, … api01, api02, …
You get the idea.
I’m using Wayland (Fedora 40 KDE). I will have to look for a Wayland way of doing this.
Does it mean I will be able to login to Standard Notes using Proton account the same way as I do with SimpleLogin?
I think the closest to you requirements will be Grocy. You can define list of products you use, current stock, rules to add product to the shopping list based on amount, what to do when you move product between storage locations (e.g. move from freezer to fridge), etc. There’s also a mobile app. Having said that I stopped using it after couple months. Few reasons: mobile app had no offline mode, mobile app was not compatible with the latest app server version, I had many issues setting up current stock (many times I had to manually adjust the amounts after using consume/purchase option). Overall I like the idea but it didn’t work for me.
