Delta, Epsilon, Beta, rpi01, rpi02…
Was good to get a heads up that Traffic v3 was out. Made some time to update over the weekend.
No but I wish I had been. 😑
This is awesome, starring this to make sure I don’t forget to give it a try.
I’d recommend giving the ASUS Merlin firmware a try if you feel up to it. It might work out better than stock firmware if that’s what you’re running.
Does the controller software have to run 24/7 or only when you need to make config changes?
I’m looking into the Omada ecosystem and wondering if the hardware controller is crucial or a convenience that can be deferred.

This is easily my favorite regular post here :D
I’ve been meaning to standup another pihole on another pi for DNS redundancy. I have to research how to best keep the piholes in sync. So far I’ve found orbital-sync and gravity-sync.
I use pihole for managing DNS and DHCP. It’s run via docker and the compose file and dnsmasq configs are version controlled so if the Pi dies I can just bring it up on another Pi.
The Pi with pihole has a static IP to avoid some of the issues you described.
Still gotta pay for guide data iirc. Has that changed?
An update for the Roku app was released 5 days ago which massively improves it (finally an OSD!). It’s getting there.
Thank you! Glad to find out the Jellyfin Roku up got such a substantial update.
I think it depends on your clients. If you’re using Roku, you can skip Jellyfin…sadly.
I’ve used the ability to add “notes”. Looks like you can add tags for organizing too.
+1!!
Before the baby arrived I wondered how this could be useful, now that the baby is here this is indispensable. So glad I have this.
I have four Pis. They're running Pihole DNS & DHCP, a reverse proxy, and torrent clients. I don't have them setup as a cluster, been meaning to look into it but I don't want to add complexity so I'm putting it off.
Gah, treasure trove of info. Thank you for sharing! How’s the garage rack holding up? I’m so tempted to put some servers in my garage but the heat can get excessive.
I think there’s something wrong with lemmy.world, this is the post. The developer posts to confirm the tracking is turned off. Sorry the direct link didn’t work.

Might be pfsense? My little J1900 box running Ubuntu Server gets 920Mbps.
