I haven’t played Dota2 for years, but the toxicity was a reason I stopped. So I am not sure this thing is effective. I know its a tough task, but still I believe that if one developer can have better solutions to this, than it would be Valve.
I hope you are right, I really like the game and hope they have some interesting fix for toxicitiy and matchmaking.
hopefully, I just hope Deadlock doesn’t get the Artifact treatment
they would fit into the Deadlock development, imo
Lol, yea exactly. Thats why electornic devices stop working after their guarantee runs out 80% of the time… ;)
“open them up”? make them open source or what? thats ridicolous
I don’t understand this bullshit, if developers/publishers drop their games, just stop investing time into their games or buying from them. How could you force private companies to invest into something which gives zero return?
pre alpha…
Paid content, best content.
facepalm I truly mixed that in my brain. But Valve also has this Dota Chess Game, right? Not sure if you would count that as a success though, have totally lost track of it.
Artifact, Heroes of the Storm etc. those are not success stories of recent Valve.
This is taking way too long.
Just play guild wars 2 if you don’t wanna rely on other players.
Why play the old iterations? Is there a reason? I think the newer ones are more “beginner friendly”? With training modes and such.
This needs to be at the top. Starforged is amazing, because Ironsworn is an amazing system. All the influences you mentioned in starting post are also mentioned as influences for the making of Starforged. The only problem I see, is that your focus on mechanical system for the ship stuff.
Ptba is inherently not as mechanical as other meta systems. But I highly recommend checking it out.
Second suggestion would be Stars without Numbers, Crawford is praised for almost every release he does. You can’t go wrong for Sci Fi with his system, it offers quite more crunch than Starforged (from my knowledge, I didn’t read or play SWN myself!). But it offers, similar to Starforged, amazing tools for building worlds in a scifi setting, which can be used in any other system you might prefer.
But I never do? :(
I mean I don’t totally disagree with your statements, but how much playtime do you have in NMS? I have 85 hours and I am totally satisfied aka not thinking of returning regarding new patches with new “content”. Does that make it a bad game? I don’t think so. Is it the best spacesim ever, I don’t think so either. But it gets some features really nicely done:
But I agree the core gameplay loop is quite shallow, I see it more as a “light” sandbox game.
One of the most interesting games shown, besides Wilds.
Are you paying? :P But yeah I know I am a terrible person. But the good thing, this way I don’t play mediocre or above average games. :D Although I spent way too much game on “multiplayer” games like Deadlock atm.
