Got through the whole article and they don’t say, “Fall of Duty” once.
What even is journalism these days?!?

Seconded. I keep trying others. I tried feedly for a while. I also tried readyou (which I still keep on my phone)… But nothing comes as close to inoreader for doing what I want.
Also, I’ve learnt how to aggregate other feeds into a single feed to pass them into it to get around the 150 limit. Not ideal, but I’m cheap.
Was it though? It was full steam ahead even in the early days when the servers were overwhelmed in what seemed like a classic case of the dishoom effect.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fine game, but I think folk got carried away.
Hypetrain game + publisher shenanigans… Pretty sure I’ve heard this one before.
And what’s worse, half of those complaining bought Elon’s blue tick!
No mate, I’m doing you a favour playing your game. You should pay me. It would be great exposure. I’ve got literally some followers.
And yeah, I’ll bang on about minimum wage being too low and I’ll post about AAA Devs ripping off their workers, but a lone developer asking $10 for something that probably took them months, too much. Too much.
What a sell out.
(/S just in case)
Influencers are just fleshy advertising boards.
Let’s not worry about them throwing their toys out of the pram.
Chap looks like he’s been to sports direct.
Voice over: the thing is, kids, he really, really didn’t… He didn’t in a spectacular fashion. He didn’t so hard that he unbitched a few people who were already critically bitched.
Hey, the idea might have been a bit dodgy, but you are made of better stuff.
Credit to you.
Just thought, fuck it. Why no add a second elected chamber where each other community can elect a representative to have oversight on everything the mod does?
Let’s democracy the hell out of this.
No moderation without representation. IOW: mods should be democratically elected.
Yeah, no.
Don’t turn this into a popularity contest. One that can be bought and cheesed.
Who has time for oversight on that? Why not voter id too.
Is this first past the post or proportional representation?
Term limits, right? Does that include a hand over? How much of their term will be spent getting up to speed?
Where is the incentive to someone starting their own community if it is going to be taken from them when they’ve put in hard work for no money. Should they not be rewarded for their labour?
Will the inherent democratisation of communities alter the content posted on them? Should we place bans in meta-political posts that support only the incumbent mod?
What if they choose not to leave? Insurrection? Send in the troops?
My friend, I say this genuinely, you are trying to police the internet. Don’t. It’s a folly.
You have the power to walk away. You have the power to start your own community.
Do it and run it better.
And back to the democracy thing… Democracy is a wonderful thing in the governance of human civilization… It’s not a fix for every situation you encounter that you don’t like. It often means instead of having one asshole to deal with you’ll get a carousel of different assholes on a regular basis.
Strong hints of Black and White mixed with Spore.
I feel old enough that adding another decade seems cruel.
Still, totally worth the slight deafness and glass back that moshing to this track contributed to.
1993, not 1983, right?
I’ve talked to some folk who work in TV about just this.
The upshot is that knowing the length of run with enough time creates better episodes whether the run is short or long.
The problem is something getting big and an emergency demand for more episodes after a season has already been planned out. (or that episodes need to be cut for a reduced run).
As for the BBC, we are still very much waiting for the clock to run out on Casualty, Holby City, EastEnders, silent witness…
I’d also argue that even despite a shorter episode length, Sherlock still managed to overstay its welcome.
Surely Call of Out drops in Fall?
