While its nice when a program let’s you pick the egress interface for its network traffic, split tunneling is still on the host os for handling its route table and making sure that’s set up correctly. Like, were people setting up split tunnel networks where they were treating the vpn interface as a proxy, pointing the software at it, and just hoping for the best?

This keeps being said and I don’t understand why people keep saying it. Split tunneling should be exactly as secure as your route table makes it, shouldn’t it?
They gain some protection for the brand and retain the trademarks associated with it by licensing instead of ignoring, and get this for free vs the ongoing expense in private server whackamole.
A lot of that range anxiety will start to evaporate as charging (both slow and fast) becomes more ubiquitous. If I can charge to 80% in 15 minutes I don’t need a lot more than 2-3 hours of drive time on a single charge, so long as there’s a charging station at that interval.

I’ve always been a fan of the canon interpretation that anything other than the two nacelle pattern was because someone needed to compensate for something in the workload. Battleships (Federation-class variants, Galaxy-X) have 3 so one can get chopped off and they can keep on trucking, quads rotate through them to even wear/allow ‘sprinting’ for longer, singletons being 2 nacelles in a trenchcoat for cost/maintenance reasons (which explains why they’re often proportionally oversized), etc.
It also took several years of utter dominance before they started to drift into their current monstrousness. It’s not just that they won, but they also stayed winning.
That ending theme was irresponsibly good.
You don’t need one, but it feels a lot better using one, though I would argue that for just driving around HOTAS is better than dual stick.
It could just be that the holodeck noise dampening isn’t working today, and sleep deprived Boimler doesn’t think to just call engineering to go fix it?
I love this actually. Kirk, probably top 5% percent against the Gorn captain who happened to be some ancient, arthritic, half blind, one foot in the grave, and still beat his ass all over the paramount back lot.
I will be incredibly disappointed if in season 6 or something they don’t bring that back and have it be bunnies.
Can we talk about how great it is that they keep tinkering with the opening credits for the special episodes? Because I love it every time they do. Fukkin acapella man.
