Its a bit confusing to me at first. Expectation: left eye goes to right hemisphere, right eye goes to left hemisphere. Reality: left eye output goes to both hemisphere, right eye goes to both hemispheres.

Just thought of an alternative theory. Republican states may be more obsessed with trans porn, but maybe its not the anti-trans or Republicans in those states that are obsessed. Maybe the reason why so many are antitrans in those states is the prevalence of trans porn in their communities.

Repressed Republican is an attractive explanation, and probably true for a significant portion, but I doubt it’s the full truth.

A few years back, I was speaking to a roommate. I complained that the (then) new Star Trek had forced diversity. He immediately shut me down, “Star Trek has ALWAYS been like that”. He was a huge fan of Star Trek

It is surprising and Im sure it reduced the performance, but plastic still conducts heat and sounds like it was a thermoplastic and it didn’t melt.

It works very well for me. My evidence that it is private is that I download plenty (more than 1 TB per month) and I never get a copyright notice from my ISP. When I torrent non-privately I get plenty of copyright notices, sometimes several times for the same torrent.

It does have, however, some major performance issues. It can be very slow, and it can use up a lot of RAM and a lot of CPU. Its internal database, which saves state of downloads, frequently gets corrupted at which point it has to be re-generated, meaning the list of torrents (not the downloads) is lost. It can be quite a bit slower than other torrent downloaders, and sometimes torrents stall for a while as it waits to prepare the network, especially at start-up.

It’s been getting a lot better though with every update, which is quite frequent.

I think you are missing the point of @clay_pidgin’s reply.

This is about achieving critical mass. This type of protest can carry significant costs to the protestor: job loss, being targetted, etc. Achieving a critical mass is to get a protest large enough that either makes those costs worth it, or removes those costs (it is easier to fire one person than it is to fire 100000 people).

I think Global refers to “globally within the US”.

It is an intersting question, but I think it is better for the reaistance movement if people outside of the US continued to work and buy things (that dont support the US).

I agree that that’s useful information. I wonder though, if it is that useful, if Lemmy or the Lemmy app does that automatically?
