Surely they mean entirety as in “the entire monthly player numbers of every game on steam”, not “the quantity of accounts that’ve ever been created”

No, you see, you just get every citizen to pay a little bit into the bridge, and then everyone can use it. Maybe we put some of that money aside and establish a group of people to care for the bridge, upkeep and whatnot. It wouldn’t be fair to just pick them arbitrarily, so we should probably hold some kind of vote. And, well, I guess the money will run out, so maybe we take a little more from everyone every year, just to keep it in good shape
Huh? That sounds like what? Gov–
Oh fuck wait shit i mean DONT TREAD ON ME
I live in a super tiny town on the edge of nowhere, so I only met like six people, who all regularly streetpassed with each other. So I set my router up with fakepass or whatever it was called, the software that let me streetpass with people all over the world, and that was huge fun. Then they set up some kind of thing where every Mcdonalds in NA was streetpass linked or something, so I didn’t have to do the router thing anymore, and I started making regular trips to the park beside McDonalds, because their wifi just barely reached and I’d get streetpasses.
I bought the Plaza DLC, whatever it was called, and I played every game for hours. It was just so fun to see that there were other people doing the same thing as me. It made everything feel a bit like an MMO. I wish it’d come back for the Switch 2.
Reading the article explains that it’s not that their aesthetic is shared, it’s that some of the models are extremely similar to S/V models, beyond the likelihood of coincidence, and Nintendo plans to investigate if it’s coincidence or actual asset theft.

I’ve only known tiny vintage communicator for 5 minutes, but if anything happened to him, I’d torpedo the planet
Wowww, they have borg cubes! Two kinds! Good consolation prize!
What the heeeey? This looks awesome, where did you get that!
It’s hardly nitpicking. It’s the foundation of the entire first paragraph.
My point is that you implied it’s that the game industry isn’t putting out demos. “The occasional game here and there every other year or so”. But that’s a false statement, the lack of demos in your life is your own doing
And even if they don’t have a demo, Steam’s refund system makes basically any game a demo; since you can refund for any reason in the first 2 hours, you can play the first ~90 minutes for free
I know the occasional game has released a demo here and there every other year or so, but I think I remember the last demo I played was Skate 3’s back in 2010.
That’s… pretty on-you, I have to say. Something like 2/3 of my gaming time is free demos off steam or the nintendo eshop. Steam just had their yearly Next Fest, with over 900 games dropping demos this month.

I feel like you're actively choosing not to read what I said, because literally the entire point of that post that I'm not saying that.
I'm saying banning all forms of genetic engineering is an overreaction to the Eugenics War. Not all genetic engineering is eugenics. Like any medical technology, when used wisely, it can be invaluable in helping people and improving their lives. The Earth was so traumatized by the results of eugenics that centuries later, they still mandate the entire Federation throw out the baby with the bathwater.
God, they even want to make leisure time into a side hustle. Is it so much to ask that they let me not think about my participation in capital for like, two hours?
Eugenics is a major part of that trauma, being part of the war. But banning all forms of genetic engineering across the entire multi-species alliance for centuries because it can go too far is a vast overreaction. Imagine if the nuclear reactors had been completely banned because of WWII, or if viral research was banned because of COVID, or if prosthetic limbs were banned because of Wolf 359.
Because Earth never faced an extinction-level Cyborg War, pretty much. I'm of the opinion that the primary reason for the Federation's ban on genetic engineering is Earth's enduring trauma from the Eugenics War.
I'm the same way, I bailed on Picard and Discovery pretty early. Strange New Worlds is really good though, imo.
Splatoon 1 let you play five different minigames on the wii u pad, including a pretty solid rhythm game, while waiting, nothing else has come close for me
