And what would you recommend for supposedly better fast food chicken? Certainly not McDonald’s certainly not Burger King definitely not KFC’s overcooked dry as fuck chicken. Maybe sonic? I don’t know if they even have chicken I haven’t looked

they are pretty good as far as fast food chicken goes. Their chicken sandwiches are well above most places. Sure i could get better at a restaurant but i don’t always have time to do that as those require a decent chunk of time.
The streaming app is fuckin stupid though.
What’s the point of that? Nintendo isn’t getting any money from that sale so from their perspective it’s literally no different from emulation.
If there is no legitimate means for you to purchase an original product from the company and give them your money then why the hell do they care if you’re emulating something they weren’t going to get money either way
It uses a fox girl for its mascot so that tells me everything I need to know. (it’s clearly the best)
So, just for clarity. Even if this rolls out to all paid plans. This is opt in specifically right? Or at minimum can be entirely disabled?
It’s not even just the os, don’t get me wrong that’s a huge part of it but the control layouts and the quality of the buttons on all these other competitors to the steam deck are just garbage. Why the absolute fuck does no one want to do symmetrical joysticks, I will never use asymmetrical joysticks. Why does everything need to be offset and weird and why is the touchpad always an afterthought shoved into the smallest possible corner. I use the touchpads on the steam deck literally constantly, either for radial menus or even in games like factorio just as a mouse
Which is hilarious, because not to be that guy but women absolutely destroy bathrooms in my experience. I need like the hand soap, shampoo, body wash, and my toothbrush and toothpaste. Pretty easy to keep all that clean.
Meanwhile no matter how nice and meticulous of a female roommate I’ve had the bathroom ends up an absolute destroyed disaster of makeup hair dye and i don’t even know what else.
Then again on the Flipside most male roommates I’ve had don’t understand the concept of scraping uneaten food into the trash on your way to the sink instead of just putting it in the sink and then letting water run over it so it becomes a mushy moldy mess at the bottom.
The lesson here is that everyone sucks, just differently(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
This, I have been using it for many many years. I wouldn’t call it perfect but it’s better than the other options in my opinion
The ratios are the same, you just can’t find videos of people doing it with small things because that’s not as interesting. There is still ultimately a limit to how much a given amount of heat sink can transfer heat to air even with a small processor.
20w TDP would be possible with some extra forced air from a dock. Mainly because some handhelds can be put to 20 tdp, and they technically work although they hit thermal throttling at 90c almost immediately. With a little bit of forced air from a dock you should be able to bring that down to a much more reasonable 80c
No, no it can’t. Plenty of videos of people putting absolutely stupid powerful fans on tiny heatsinks with big overclocked cpu and it’s unable to keep up until they swap to a bigger heatsink.
There is a limit to how much heat a given amount of heatsink can disperse and there is a limit to how quickly that can transfer to air. If the heatsink is too small no amount of extra airflow will fix it.
I’m sure you’re getting that from the many Reddit comparisons. But in every one of those I’ve looked at the one thing that they forget is that the PS4 is playing at 1080P and the steam deck is playing at 720P.
If you use the official dock on a 1080p monitor the steam deck starts to fall behind the PS4 rather quickly. It is true that on paper the steam deck Apu is getting close to the PS4 but that’s without taking into account the TDP that the steam deck has set or the fact that steam deck is running at a lower resolution.
It gets even Messier when you take into account that not all games will run at 1080p on the ps4, some of them have Dynamic resolution support to maintain better performance at which point comparing the games becomes extremely difficult.
But if you just look at Absolute raw CPU and GPU compute numbers the steam deck isn’t quite at the level of the PS4 which makes sense because it doesn’t have access to quite as much power. It is much newer which is why it gets as close as it does. And if it had a 20 watt TDP I’m willing to bet it could beat it in most things, but as it stands because of the limitations of the cooling necessitating a lower TDP it’s not quite there.
You are correct that arm is generally more power efficient but that’s only the CPU, we don’t know what type of Graphics they will be using and for a gaming device that’s a fairly important piece of information. Nvidia doesn’t really make mobile arm gpus anymore so they can’t go with them, and if they go with one of the Arm based gpus those are significantly behind in terms of performance. They are good enough for your cell phone but they don’t compare to AMD or Nvidia.
This just shows you have no idea how cooling works. The most you could add to the external dock will be a fan, there’s only so much a fan can do the bottleneck is that your systems cooler is simply not large enough. A fan cannot make up for a copper heat sink that is too small, take a good look at the iFixit teardowns of the steam deck and look at how much copper that thing is working with and that’s already one of the larger handhelds. You couldn’t put a ps4 amount of power through that no matter how much fan you gave it
That still requires a cooling system capable of handling the higher power, which will make the unit bigger, heavier, and less portable
Leaks say a lot things, and are almost always wrong. The idea that you could put a PS4 level of performance in a handheld with reasonable battery life is absurd.
Valve put a damn good custom amd apu in the deck, and it’s limited to 15w if they really wanted they could just slap a higher power limit and get way more performance. But then it would run too hot and it’s battery life would be practically non-existent. And considering that was a partnership with AMD to help design that I highly doubt Nintendo has magically figured out something that neither valve nor AMD knew in terms of how to get that kind of performance out of a small power budget
I just wish it would stabilize. I’ve been using it but half the time indo a docker-compose pull it breaks
Yeah no, i don’t have the time I’ve got my own shit to do. My Plex system is almost entirely automated. Ombi let’s me request a show with a single tap, sonarr finds it from my sources, sends that to transmission, then once it’s download imports it and puts symlinks with proper naming into the library folders. And then plex properly matches up the metadata.
I’m still waiting for it to be up to par, I have jellyfin on the server and I check it maybe once a month with the latest version but it still fails miserably with my library.
It’s a very clean high organized library managed by sonarr. All Files are in
“series name (year) > Season xx > series name SxxExx (episode title)”
format and yet it still just fails miserably at matching so much of my content (its a rather massive library) especially on anime. Half the time I have to manually match it, and I have to use the Japanese title in order to pull up the English metadata, because that makes sense.
Playback also just… Fails for no reason on tons of my devices. It’s been getting better recently but until it’s on par with Plex I am not leaving sadly
I mean to be fair it’s still terrible. Better than the early days and in my opinion better than using Reddit which is why I’m here. But basic functionality is just awful. Trying to discover new content outside of your particular instances incredibly tedious. So many large instances won’t stop trigger happy Banning practically every other goddamn instance out there which isn’t helping. The whole thing that originally made Reddit popular was that it was an easy place to go to find almost any topic of Interest but I now have to hunt through many different instances to potentially find what I’m looking for on top of that the community for any one particular interest could easily be scattered across multiple different instances that don’t Federate with each other and if I subscribe to all of them I’m going to likely be subjected to a lot of repeating posts
I fully understand why a lot of people were not on board with that I put up with it because I hate Reddit more than I hate that but a lot of people will not share that opinion
You didn’t recommend anywhere in particular you just made a vague list of try anything else. But there aren’t really that many other options in a lot of places. As another commenter has pointed out. I think the closest thing I have is probably Ezell’s Famous Chicken but they mostly focus on full pieces of fried chicken rather than chicken sandwiches and while they are better than Chick-fil-A they take significantly longer I wouldn’t really classify them as fast food they sit somewhere between fast food and a restaurant. Let’s call it fast-ish food with my average wait being 15-20min. Definitely somewhere I will go when I have the time. And for the most part I just cook food at home and don’t even really eat fast food but there are times when I’m busy, tired, or in the middle of something and need food really quick. And if I’m wanting some chicken unfortunately Chick-fil-A is my best option if I need it fast
