Right! I use the flatpak myself - works great.

There’s a native Linux version! No need for wine :)
I use makemkv. Works every time. Once in a while you have to open the disk “manually” and select the right track but ya, makemkv does it all.
Free if you want to update the beta trial key every few months. After years of use I bought a lifetime license for like $20. Probably the best value I’ve ever gotten.
Frostpunk - seems fun. Played a few hours.
Armored core 6 - um I died like 4 times in the tutorial. I was shamed and put it down.
But ya - it’s been Elden ring pretty much 90% of the time.
I never got the hype of the first game. Cool idea sounds and visuals, but the gameplay was trash. I felt burned paying for the first, no way I’m touching this one with real money. I’ll wait for a $5 sale maybe, but that’s it.
I bet a lot of people are in the same boat.
I picked up palworld again. I like the recent improvements to controlling pals in the base. You can tell them to not do certain tasks and there are other base management qol fixes. I summoned one of those base bosses and it literally destroyed my entire base lol. It’s still a little grindy and boring but they are making positive changes.
Brotato on the steam deck has been occupying my time - I don’t know why I keep picking it back up. But I do.
I’m eyeing red dead redemption 2 - I’ve never played that. I’m also looking at Stellar Blade. I may pick one of those up and give it a go.
I see this sentiment a lot and I’ve disagreed. Something didn’t really click for me with Metroid prime - I much preferred the side scrollers. I think it has to do with controllers - up until then I was a mouse and keyboard person, the controller was jarring and janky.
Maybe I should revisit the series. I never thought it was a bad game, maybe I’ll appreciate it more the 2nd time around.
I do love me some Metroid games whatever the form.
Glassdoor and all other businesses that operate on the “holding companies hostage” model are trash, always have been, and people who use them should know better / expect this type of behavior. They are imo even lower than the Facebooks and twitters of the world.
Not surprising.
Baldurs gate 3. I started when it came out, but then got distracted by a few games. It took like 200+ hours, but I finally got my fill of factorio. So now back to bg3-it’s very good.
Pretty sure there were cars around 15 years ago with remote start, heated seats, and fancy ways to lock and unlock. No there weren’t phone apps, but nobody wanted that - key fobs worked just fine.
My 2021 jeep’s key fob has an unbelievable range and works fine. My wife’s ford does have a phone app, but it’s completely free.
This is nothing more than a money grab.
I can’t for the life of me stop playing Rimworld. Man that game is addicting.
Interesting - I haven’t had this issue with the gui. Thanks for the heads up!
No man’s sky for the first time. It’s fun for a bit I think. Dunno if it’s “I’m gonna play this forever” fun - seems a bit repetitive. But it was on sale and it’s amusing enough. I tried it out because I thought starfield was so boring, and felt like playing a space game.
Tears of the kingdom - little late to the party but it’s a fun game.
I’m literally arguing in another thread now about how weird corporations are about this. And here’s a prime example. The company shares their content on the internet freely. A medium where its inherent design is to consume the bits and pieces of the giant mass of data that you are interested in (and ignore the rest).
But because we choose to not watch the ads, and only the interesting parts (that they published freely) - THAT’S a reason to go after BPC with govt. action? Give me a break. If your content is so good, grow some balls, put it behind a hard paywall, ask me to pay for it, and stop leaving it laying around on the ground for all to view.
