If you literally just use your preferential search engine you will find that the top result gives you the answer you seek to who the person OP is referring to. Just because you do not know someone does not mean that they don’t meet a specific magic threshold that needs to be met in order for someone to ask questions.
The user above is wrong. Blocking is only one-directional and you won’t see comments and posts from them any longer, but they still see the things you posts.
I’ve always had issues with gaining weight. For most of my life I was 5’10"(178cm) and 135lb(61kg). The only thing that ever made a meaningful difference(as an adult) for me was protein powder. I could drink nothing but beer for every meal and not gain a pound, but whey protein powder in conjunction with weight lifting helped me put on about 15-20lbs(7-9kg).
I think 10 is a little young to be seriously worried about forcing weight gain though, especially if he’s already got a calorically full and balanced diet.
I also expect they’ll try to work it back in somehow to capture more revenue and/or data. If it’s not this again in a stealthier form, then it’ll be something similar. No crossplay without PSN or no credit store without PSN, something like that.
This is moreorless what I’m expecting. They will either strongly incentivize it when the publicity dies down or place restrictions on those that don’t link accounts.
Maybe I’m just jaded, but I wonder how long it will be until Sony ‘changes their mind’ and tries to enforce contractual obligations again. I’m going to guess 6 months to wait for the negative PR to cool.
I’ve recently started wondering how many people are here because they’re too toxic for regular social media rather than because they want to be here.
This has largely been my operating assumption as well since day one when I came over during the Reddit API lockdown. I was fairly active on a NSFW alt up until recently and I’ve actually seen dozens of comments from new users mentioning that the only reason they were here on Lemmy was because they were banned from Reddit and had no other viable options. They were always an asshole to the posters and the reality is that with a lower population of users is that there aren’t enough other voices to drown out these people yet and you end up with a feedback loop of toxicity.
Yeah and the Dratini line was the only dragon type in gen 1 and was supposed to be very powerful and psudo-legendary.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided against giving Gyarados the dragon type because of that specific lore reason as it’s never made a whole lot of sense to me that it had the flying type either. I think Gyarados would be too strong both offensively and defensively if it didn’t have the quad elec weakness which is probably why it’s the way it is. (Disclaimer: I know nothing of Pokemon beyond gen4 and feel free to disregard my opinions)
Just to add to what Daemon provided in the post, aside from hitting the comment button you can also hit the ‘view source’ option from the comment drop-down menu in Jerboa and it will show deleted and mod/admin removed comments as well in plain text.
Not sure if this is intended behavior or not as I actually appreciate the ability to do so. It helps to not lose context in conversations with deleted/removed material while still providing a small barrier to a casual observer.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who found the world resets frustrating. I agree that the world is interesting and atmospheric, but as someone who enjoys thoroughly exploring, the resets just kept ruining my immersion into the world. Maybe one day I’ll go back to the game.
The number of players that determine if it’s “massive” will be subjective, but there’s more to the definition than just that. A CoD game isn’t an MMO just because it has a 16vs16 lobby for example. Gameplay design is still always going to be a big factor into the genre definitions.
Personally I just block the entire community if all posts are made up of Reddit mirrors. If that’s all the posts that are there, that’s probably all there ever will be. It just clutters up my feed otherwise. There are a handful of lower post volume communities that I have mild interest in that I’ve let slide but it seems to have worked well so far.
All the options are pretty much all or nothing at this point. You can block the community the bot is posting to or disable bot posts being visible in entirety in your settings.
They will still get the opportunity to do observations and imaging.
The tools described in the article are used to help with the analysis of already created images. This is actually an extremely tedious and time-consuming process where it's not uncommon to rely on volunteer crowdsourcing just due to the sheer volume of pictures. The larger telescopes around the world are almost always taking images of the sky looking for changes for one reason or another.
People in general have a hard time conceptualizing how large and empty space is. With our current propulsion technology it will take longer than the human lifespan, barring any absolutely groundbreaking cryonics developments, to reach even the Oort cloud of our own solar system.
I think in the next century, a reasonable goal is to have small sparsely manned mining outpost settlements on Mars. There’s enough financial incentive where I could see a future where it happens.
Unless it was a few very specific US states, this isn’t really relevant. The minimum age to sign up for an account on Twitch is 13.
