I built a data logger a few years back. The data you likely want is on the CAN BUS network. You’ll need a CAN BUS hat for a pi or a pi with it baked in. There are other ways but you will likely end up realizing a pi or similar is best.
You’ll need to log the data while away from home and then sync the data when WiFi is available. Requiring the pi to stay powered after the car shuts off. Easy to do with some relays.
Depending on what data you are looking for it shouldn’t be too much work to get going on logging.

Rebuild to different disks than the ones you backed up though. Don’t restore over your working data.
What are the permissions on your B2 api key?
Are you doing the support for free? If so I would make another teamviewer account.
I’ve only heard of them asking for money if you connect to a computer with a paid account. Are you connecting to computers with paid teamviewer instances?
Just docker and some scripts. I used unraid for a bit but it annoyed me.
The only type of data I care about is photos and video I’ve taken. Everything else is replaceable.
My phone —> immich —> backblaze b2, and some Google drive.
Linux isos I can always redownload.
The kiwi app that does offline web archives. It has collections for this but also all of stackoverflow and Wikipedia.
61·1 year agoI got into “home automation” during the initial rush. Everything was dependent on its own hub or cloud service. After using some of them, especially the voice controlled ones, I got interested in what all they can see/collect. I quickly dropped everything and have been in a dumb house for a few years.
What I’ve realized I need is cameras to watch my pets and a dumb keypad door lock to let people in when I’m not home.
What I want again is a thermostat I can control from my phone. I haven’t found one that doesn’t need cloud services.
If I wanted to get everything “smart” again I would isolate everything to its own VLAN with no internet access for the whole VLAN. I would have an electrician fix my no neutral drop situation and get wifi switches not bulbs. I would add temperature sensors in each room. Custom build a camera system server. Add network access to my Honeywell security system.
The best way I’ve found.
I’ve had success with a mix of snort and pihole. Lots of ads seem to violate some RFC and snort blocks it. It’ll even break ads in the Apple TV YouTube app. You just get a black screen while ads play.
