Gork@sopuli.xyzto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL The first domain on the internetEnglish20·10 days agoWouldn’t the .arpa TLD be the first? It existed before the Internet was even the Internet.
Like this? Unrelated but similar in concept.
Gork@sopuli.xyzto US News@ponder.cat•TSA to soon allow passengers to keep their shoes on at airport security: Sources3·19 days agoThe only time I’ve seen this relaxed before is on days that are unusually busy with lots of travelers.
It’s fun when one TSA employee tells you that you don’t need to take off your shoes and one ten feet away tells you to take off your shoes.

Gork@sopuli.xyzto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Mocked Trump Mobile yanks coverage map that ignored Trump renaming Gulf of MexicoEnglish14·1 month agoBut White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said that it’s an “indisputable fact” that the body of water is called the Gulf of America!

Gork@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•I Learned Rust In 24 Hours To Eat Free Pizza Morally39·1 month agoOur Linux patch had not only been rejected but had apparently been the final straw for Linus Torvalds, who announced in a profanity-laden email that he was removing all Rust code from the kernel.
“I’ve had it,” his email read. “At least C developers know when they’re drunk.”
lol
That’s way too non-convoluted enough
Gork@sopuli.xyzto PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•What people miss about Steam Deck's "loss" to NintendoEnglish18·2 months agoThe biggest thing for me is being able to use my entire Steam Library (games accumulated over a decade) without having to repurchase any games. That alone was worth it. It handles a lot of games really well with only minor tweaks in the settings needed for some of them.
Gork@sopuli.xyzto Fediverse@lemmy.world•lemm.ee is shutting down at the end of this monthEnglish34·2 months agoWell that was super painless. Downloaded my .json settings, imported, and it’s like nothing even happened. All sublemmy communities I was subscribed to before have migrated successfully.
During the last sale recently I was looking for an open world racing sim. Ended up getting Forza Horizons 5 over Ubisoft’s The Crew 2 because they killed off and removed my copy of The Crew from my library, so they can get fucked.
