I will admit that Skydance Television is a mixed bag, so this may not be the absolute worst news, but Skydance’s movie releases are a fucking nightmare.

The very first season of The Real World was good. Not only was it unlike anything else on television at the time since reality shows weren’t a thing, all of the people in the house were creatives- painters, writers, musicians, etc.
Then one of them turned out to be an asshole and people liked the controversy and MTV said, “what if we just increased the asshole factor and forget about the creative factor?”
I have a crazy idea… anyone know any billionaires?
And America never breaks agreements!
I would think if the cap is melting, even keeping the rig in place would be a problem.
How much can we pay them to never drill for any oil again? Because I’m thinking it’s worth the cost.
Or, if you prefer, here is “Einstein” explaining it.
I mean… it is a problem if you’re also trying to grow food. But it’s not the worst problem one could have.
James Darren was also in T. J. Hooker, which starred William Shatner, giving him a double-Star Trek connection.
I feel like pretty much all of those have negative connotations as slang, more than cannabis, which is just the scientific name.
Edit: Although weed is pretty accurate. Trying to get it to stop growing is a problem in the right climate.
Yep. That’s why I usually call it cannabis.
One hundred dollar bill? It was a fifty dollar bill when I was a kid! Damn inflation.
(Also, that was not Pinto Colvig’s Bozo. The original WGN Bozo was Bob Bell. He was replaced by Joey D’Auria in the mid-80s.)
There are ways to get the whole thing if you don’t mind sailing the high seas.
Pinto Colvig is a hero of mine since I did VO work, including for cartoons. He was also the original voice for Goofy and did the dog sounds for Pluto in Disney cartoons along with Grumpy and Sleepy in Snow White. On top of that, he was also the original voice of Bluto in the Popeye cartoons and dubbed one of the voices for the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz.
Mel Blanc deservedly gets a lot of credit, but I actually find him less interesting than some of his contemporaries like Colvig. Blanc sounds like he has a lot of range, but if you really listen he doesn’t have as much as you would think. You can almost always tell a character voiced by Mel Blanc because they all have that Mel Blanc characteristic.
Pinto Colvig on the other hand? No similarity between Goofy and Bluto. You would have no idea they were done by the same guy.
(Admittedly, it does help that I can impersonate his characters better than I can Blanc’s.)
Daws Butler is the third in what I would consider the golden age trio of cartoon VO with Blanc and Colvig. Daws did half the famous Hanna-Barbera character voices, from Fred Flintstone to Huckleberry Hound. Daws also published a book called Scenes for Actors and Voices which was sort of a bible for me when I was getting into VO. It’s just a bunch of scenes he came up with that would help you develop character voices and I did at least one or two daily for years.
Not sure if this is your thing, but Stephen Sondheim did a musical about presidential assassins and set some of the poem to music (incidentally, Guiteau said at the execution that he hoped the poem would be effective if it was set to music) as part of a longer song.
He was just a complete nutbag. He wrote a poem in the style of “a child babbling to his mamma and his papa” which repeated “I am going to the Lordy” over and over again and read it on the way up to the gallows.
Check out the excerpts from his trial and what he said at his sentencing:

Edit: I forgot about the “Tableaux.”
Yeah, totally worth reading about Guiteau because he was crazy on an amazing level.
Considering we’re talking about the era of the belief in Drapetomania, I’d say a slave revolt followed by an attempt by black people to take over Cuba would be considered sci-fi by a lot of readers.
Edit: Also, sci-fi wasn’t really a thing in 1862.
