I’m serious about this, I’m tired of people pretending the BPP were some sort of leftist group fighting for equality. That’s not what they are, or were. They saw that people were being oppressed, including people like themselves, and their solution was to isolate themselves and bunker down from the threat of the outside world.

Huey P. Newton wanted all black servicemen in Vietnam to be in separate units. Bobby Seale expressed disappointment in the results of the Civil Rights Movement, although admittedly Seale was at least not a fan of Segregation of schools which I cannot say for the other members.
