I’d vote for a politician who ran on a star trek platform.
Have we had any known Trekkies in office before?

I think for a lot of them, they must have come up with some cool looking sprites and then tried to make a game/story around that.
That’s so disappointing, but at least I know going into it now.
I feel like a key interview question for a writer/director/etc should be “are you a fan of star trek?” Like, there are a ton of hardcore trek fans out there. Sure some of them are writers and can do the characters justice.
I guess the closest is something generic like “belittles” or “degrades” maybe?
Now that I think of it, I do really like that aspect of Quark’s bar as a story tool. Since they were located on a station, anyone who’s just passing through could be sitting at the bar.
His stories really helped humanize (gotta be a better for for that) the Ferengi. Like, yes they were cartoonishly greedy little jerks, but they also have individuality within their culture.
Ten Forward is just a relaxing environment. There are a few people who have uploaded ambient/atmospheric trek videos on youtube (usually something like “10 hours of the TNG warp core room”). There’s a Ten Forward one I’ve put on in the background quite a few times.
Right. And a simple tailor as he was, did he fit in with his complicated peers in tailor school?
I’d heard it had mixed reviews… I’m someone who will power through the stinkers if I have to though.
Scenes in Ten Forward always feel so cozy, and nobody would be trying to rip you off. Lol
That’s where I’d personally want to hang out too.
I still need to see Picard. I honestly have only watched TOS, TNG, and DS9 a billion times for some reason, and I have a lot of catching up to do.
Lol, I suppose that’s fair.
But people play lawn mowing simulator, power washing simulator, and truck simulator mostly for the realism.
I think if someone went all out with making some sort of bizarre simulator game like this, people would play it. Like, don’t even try to make it fun or add a story or anything, just make it as real as you can.
I’m just going to use accounts other than my one on lemmy.world for a bit while they sort out whatever’s going on.
It somehow manages to be very orchestral and fanfare-y but also like a normal TV show introducing actors. I love that it feels like a celebration for all the awesome characters that we’re about to watch.
I’m still trying to get the hang of it too. I thought I had, but this problem keeps me account hopping sometimes to double-check that my view is accurate.
Someone mentioned language settings, so I’m going to check that out next.
I don’t think any servers I view have defederated from us, especially not the big ones. It’s very odd.
Maybe, but it’ll be with recent posts on lemmy.world, and I’m positive people from here have posted or commented there, including myself.
I’ll double check this when I’m on desktop next. Maybe that’s the issue?
The Baldur’s Gate IP has a solid fanbase, D&D is really popular now, and also Larian knocked this one out of the park.
It’s also refreshingly consumer-friendly, like others have said.
