Me too. Linux already comes without warranty. This warning basically just says that if the user enables the AI agent all guarantees are off. They didn’t bother putting safeguards in and don’t want to be responsible for it.

But they prefer the right over the left because of taxes and regulations. I wonder when companies will flip, because they cannot handle the business impact of bullshit decisions like random tariffs or lawsuits over made up controversies any longer.

I work in SW for a device vendor and I see how much communication there is between OS, vendors and everything in between.

You need hardware vendors on board or you’ll get nowhere.

Well, you can’t expect the whole net of dependency to be torn down that quickly when it took decades to be established. Especially if you want a somewhat normal life.

Even before the latest acceleration into fascism I kept looking for alternatives of almost everything I use and the pain is something I’ve just got used to when it started with switching to Linux only over 20 years ago. Of course I still get envious when iPhone users just quickly AirDrop some pics, so I get why it’s not always easy to switch to alternatives.

But alternatives exist. Exploring them has become a lot more mainstream and they get more funding and support.

If your constituens are basically illitarate you can tell them whatever. As long as it sounds good.

Google’s restrictions would act through its Play Store. Custom ROMs don’t need to use GPS. So they could circumvent it.

He already caused Israel attacking Iran in the first place:

1. Ripping up the existing nuclear deal with Iran. Giving Israel the excuse.
2. Emboldening Israel with cruel rhetoric against Palestinians himself. Allowing them to commit genocide freely.
3. Finally giving them a “yellow light” for the attack.

So he definitely does not deserve the nomination, but yeah, maybe he can be manipulated into backing off.

We will need less insane conservatives on our side to correct this big orange mistake, so let’s not fuck him for the moment.
