As week 13 comes to a close, I’d like to remind everyone of the postseason seeding rules, draft order determination, and various other league administration deadlines.

Postseason Seeding

The postseason consists of two division champions and four wildcards. (This has always shaken out to include two teams from each division, but it doesn’t have to.) The division champions get first round byes.

The postseason is seeded by:

  1. Overall Record
  2. Most Points For
  3. Head to Head Record
  4. Most Points Against

Determining Draft Order by Max Points For

Last year, we voted to determine draft order for teams that did not make the playoffs using Max Points For. If you do not make the playoffs, your final record can only be used as a tiebreaker when determining your draft order.

Your Max Points For can be found by tapping “details” next to the “Standings” in the mobile app. I will be pulling the official Max Points For after Week 14 scores finalize on Thursday, December 12th. I’ll be using the API, but here’s a tool that exposes the data for anyone to see. Just go to the “Roster Management” to see your “Potential Points,” which is another way to say Max Points For.

The draft is seeded by:

  1. Teams that missed the playoffs
    1. Lowest Max Points For
    2. Worst Record
    3. Most Points Against
  2. Teams that made the playoffs
    1. Wildcard Losers (by Lowest Max Points For)
    2. Division Round Losers (by Lowest Max Points For)
    3. Runner-up
    4. Champion

If the season ended right now, the first six picks in the 2025 draft would be:

  1. Team Ginabonmom (1418 MPF, 2-10)
  2. Waddle Waddle ( 1491 MPF, 3-9)
  3. Car KamKoc (1523 MPF, 5-7, 1505 PA)
  4. Fetal Beater (1523 MPF, 5-7, 1306 PA)
  5. Team Ow My Knee (1546 MPF, 7-5)
  6. Hypocyclotron (1591 MPF, 4-8)

In this example, two teams with identical Max Points For and identical records would tiebreak using Points Against. A team with seven wins would pick ahead of a team with four wins.
