The number of box office failures (real failures, not just Hollywood accounting) seems to indicate they don’t really. The number of failures from Prime, Netflix, etc. resulting in shows cancelled immediately after release seems to indicate they don’t really.
They understand humanity very well or they wouldn’t be where they are. Humanity is just easy to manipulate.
