One of my coworkers would say it could be up to 6000 years old, his date for the beginning of the world.

Clean that up, make a silicone cast of it to act as a mold. Then make a wax cast of the silicone mold.Then you can use that wax model to fuse into some other piece of jewelry, like a ring, or earrings.
Then you take that wax model to a place that does casting (ask a pro jewelry repair person), and they’ll cast your wax model, using whatever metal you want.
All precious metals are high right now, but sterling silver would be nice. It would darken in the ridges and look cool.
