So we do off-season stuff knowing the rules for the year
Historically this hasn’t mattered since our dynasty is new.
I think that’s good idea.
I’d also like to propose adding some type of safeguards to rule changes related to scoring. Cause in theory people could/should be planning for future years and that can be difficult if rules could change. Maybe something along the lines of scoring and starting line up change proposals need to be unanimous? Or maybe take one year to come into effect? Or maybe it’s not even necessary? Just a thought…
Currently, there are two ways to pass rule changes:
- A rule gets a simple majority and is implemented for one year. Then it must be ratified the following year with another simple majority.
- A rule gets a super majority (2:1 in favor) and is implemented without the need for ratification.
This has worked pretty well so far, and the only scoring changes that have ever been proposed were either increasing accuracy or approximating ESPN scoring that was not available in Sleeper.
Yes, I agree that has worked well in the past. But in the past we have drafted players after knowing these rule changes.
We are one year out of drafting players based on one set of scoring rules. To change them with only 7 out of 12 voting for it seems kind of lame. Don’t get me wrong, I would vote yes on the current proposed line up changes. But with the nature of our rosters being more static with dynasty, do we need to lay the framework for more care to be taken when proposing scoring/starting line up changes?
