One environmental group director described the move as “a costly bureaucratic reshuffle” that will put more power in the hands of corporations and states to log, mine and drill public lands.

President Donald Trump’s administration will move the U.S. Forest Service headquarters out of the nation’s capital to Salt Lake City as part of an organizational overhaul that involves shuttering research facilities in 31 states and concentrating resources in the West, the agency announced Tuesday.

Utah has 3 incredible national parks (cannot recommend Canyonlands enough) and is a good (not great) place for the forest service if they have to move out of DC.

It’s really not. Or state government has been doing everything it can to reduce, sell, and otherwise get rid of public land. The governor is a dick sucking cuck for little don and we have a supermajority repulitard government that has been doing all it can to tear everything down. Look at the mess with bears ear national monument. Not only that, but we have a huge amount of public land, and only 11% of it is forestry land. Far less then most of the surrounding states.
