Ubisoft is run by people who are as greedy as they are dumb. They have no idea why their games succeed and genuinely do not understand that they are making the worst game business decisions since Square-Enix. They will not survive the next decade if they don’t adapt.

At that rate, it will at the very least make incredible typists. At most it will create a bubble of very capable AI trainers and maintainers.

I haven’t played quite a few games I’ve paid for but a large part of that goes to small indie devs. I may not play their game but I support them and the work that they do.

Literally never heard of it but the dev thinks if I get it for free I will want to give him money. It shows a level of confidence in the product that encourages me want to check it out.

A side effect of so many streaming channels is that they are all feeling the pressure to keep up with the catalog depth of Netflix and Disney/Hulu. This results in lots of mediocre content being produced to create the illusion of lots of stuff to watch. But no one wants to watch it or hasn’t heard of it to build mind hype for it. All that content is wasted money to prop up a failing service that is bleeding every contender dry. There will be more like Paramount. Consolidation is coming.

How is Valve pumping up the concurrent player count not a bigger news story? That is like the metric for calculating popularity of a game and Valve is openly fudging the numbers without anyone caring. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

Nintendo never hid this. The specs showed a Tegra X1 when Switch was released. It was always public knowledge that Switch is an Ouya with an ecosystem and released games.

None of your post is new but it’s like you want to drum up outrage that a company used easily available hardware that didn’t require custom hardware like Playstation or Xbox (which SHARE nearly identical AMD chipsets!)

Sam Altman is trying to equate compute time with value but fails to see that value can be traded for goods and necessities. Wtf a lumberjack, carpenter, mechanic, plumber, steel worker going to do with compute?

I liked it until CD Project Red showed they care about the shareholders more than the users with Cyberpunk. It’s clear that GOG will flip to be anti-consumer as soon as the shareholders change the company leadership. Enshittification comes for all companies because business majors don’t understand people.

Steam is private and Gaben is benevolent so that worry is distant. I also have no illusions that should Steam ever go public or change hands then the inevitable end of good, customer needs focused storefronts. But for now, Gave has proven he knows how to make a place consumers like myself want to use.

They aren’t. You misunderstand the point. Private interests are using media to skew the behavior of the people ingesting that media. Another business is asking a third party to act on behalf of the affected demographic because of the infectious and addictive nature of the media. It is hard to compel people to quit something that makes them want more of it. So this is a call to action to stop being abusive towards people.
