    Yeah, that could easily be a low pace by Russell to manage the gap. Also it is a boldly early stop, and if they’re slower than Merc outright an opposite strategy is good.

    But splitting the strat would’ve been good like lewis said right away

      The outright opposite strategy is good if the strategy itself is also somewhat solid. Ferrari opposite strategy was to gamble on a fortunate SC or VSC. They gambled for the possibility of 1,2 and ended up 3,4. If they wanted to fight with Russell they should’ve gone for the split in hopes of pincering Russell and if that doesn’t work you can still use the split strategy to pincer Antonelli. If they thought Russell was too good to fight they should’ve gone with the Merc strategy and fight with Antonelli for 2,3.

      I think Ferrari could’ve walked away with more points if they hadn’t taken the riskiest strategy.

        Yup, I think likely at least one car would be ahead of Kimi if they split the strat.
