Our 11 year old told us that all her friends watched it already and everyone is talking about it so we watched it as a family last week together.

Since then the whole family is in K-Pop Deamon Hunters feever. The music io on the TV on heavy rotation, the 2.5 years old is totally excited, mom is watching all the behind the scenes videos and I’m reading about the producers and what they did before.

I remember the Frozen craze back then when my niece was little, I am getting the feeling that this movie has the same potential.

I’d say it’s worth watching it as a family to understand the craze being it together with your kids, and what costumes you’ll need to prepare for the next Halloween :D.

I so hugely recommend this movie. I’d love to give spoilers, there’s deeper intricate meaning to some of the things you see. Basically it’s about learning to accept yourself for all that you are, in a world that expects you to be an unrealistic level of perfect, including hiding things you were born with and positions where you have to choose between money and spending time with family. There’s beautiful cultural meaning to things displayed, I won’t try to explain because I am not an expert in Korean culture and I’ll butcher the explanations. It’s multi layered, even after watching you can deep dive and learn more about the story and deeper meanings to the relationships within the show. On surface level it seems like a light and beautifully designed movie, but it has such deep felt heart, to it. The songs and music are seemingly simple, but if you have (or seek to learn after) they have deep technical roots and further the meaning of the movie. All around going to be one of my top favorite animated movies.

My eleven year old loves it, and it’s decent in that way where it will take a good bit longer for the music to drive you nuts.
