    I used this article as a base for the recipe: Are “Thai Salads” (Hakka) Chinese?

    In the description they say about the sauce

    It should feel borderline… too spicy, too sour, too sweet - mellowed out a bit by the fish sauce and MSG.

    I would say that is pretty accurate. In the finished dish it came out very nice. Sweet, Sour, spicy and savoury.
