    The article is about how large gas stations are getting, not so much about adding EV charging stations. I don’t think people need a giant place. Just throw in a restaurant or cafe so they have somewhere to sit for while.

      Tbh id like to see things more like highway rest stops. Bathrooms, seating(both indoor and outdoor, like park benches), some nature scenery. Maybe a little shop for snacks and drinks and/or vending machines.

        They should look at French highway rest stops, still the best ones I know about. Like what you describe but sometimes even more, definitely always a café or restaurant for hot meals, local delicacies, kids playgrounds, little walk areas, picnic tables, etc etc. On the really popular ones in summer you even get events, special temporary installations, exhibitions, etc.

    Other than the opening paragraph the article is unreadable, guessing a paywall or like that never fully pops up.

    As gas stations prepare for more electric vehicles to be on the road, they’re getting bigger. That has created tension in some communities.
